About Rickshaws in Paris
He world economic crisis create new jobs, like rickshaw, kind of bike or tricycle, I have seen them not only in China but in New York (post here one of them) London, Mexique, Munich, Berlin and also in Paris
I took one to go from the Louvre Museum to Place de la Concorde, short trip but with time to talk with the driver
He was a charming boy that asked me to speak in Spanish, he wanted to learn and practice languages and so become a touristic guide, asked about his work he told how it is organized in France
There are three ways, with a full motor as in the photo, they paid full taxes, with a light motor as he had, they paid half taxes than the ones with motor and finally there are some with no motor at all, they paid not taxes

This is a great scene, the combination of the two types of transport, but also that the rickshaw is in light and the bus in shade, it kind of makes it look like the bus is a shark, sneaking up to attach the innocent smaller vehicle :) Nice urban scene, well captured.
all the best

A wonderfully captured image.
This one looks a bit dangerous for me..:-D Yes, it's all for tourists. I remembered that I saw sort of the same transport for tourists in Vienna as well a couple of years ago.. and a lot in my home town, Beijing...:-D
A very good evening to you.

un curioso contraste entre el bus y este coche. me gusta la luz y el encuadre con buenos detalles. creo que no he visto esto en Europa, he utilisado un de estos en puno-peru solamente.

This is a very nice catch of two vehicles in extreme ends of the scale. One is human powered, capable of carrying a few (two?) people, the other with a big engine with enough space for 50+. Well done!

A Rickshaw in Paris, a bit unusual - but original. Great way to take a ride through town, especially on a nice summer day.
A fine catch, contrast to the bus behind.

This is a nice daily life shot including two contrasting modes of transportation. The lighting is great with the rickshaw spotlighted with the bus in shadow.

Hola Maria querida,
I heard the bad (but anticipated, it seems ) news about the bankruptcy, it has raised worries and debates in Greece too. I hope there are reliable ways to get Argentina out of this new crisis and hope you're ok.
Your picture has great perspective and layout and you managed to render it perfectly clear, despite the strong lighting contrasts. I find it very interesting but also a little amusing as it looks like a race. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, I hope everything will get better soon,

Human's creativeness amazes me, I've seen all kinds of contraptions but not this one. I'm sure he gets a lot of exercise and I hope he makes a good living out of this. Nicely captured with good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Contrast between the two types of transport, I like your composition and the angle which you used well to draw the eye to the stunning rickshaw with lovely catch light from the right The backdrop building adds the sense of location. Clarity is reasonably managed under the circumstances with good overall contrast. Lovely street shot, Congrats, TFS

Beautiful image from the street of Paris. Nice daily life scene with different transportation systems.
Perfect exposure and good color saturation, very well composed and captured this beautiful image. Nice shot.

Being an 'ex' transportation analyst your image got my attention. The modern pedal powered but still a rickshaw in front of the large motorized bus.
I am happy to announce that Los Angeles has started to work on adjusting their downtown streets to be more bicycle friendly. Many moons ago during the early 70s Oil Embargo I tried to ride my bike to work but it was just too dangerous with cars ignoring my right of way, and in a collision the bicycle always losses.
thanks for sharing,

Bonsoir mon conseiller de voyage. :)
I can't recall seeing these rickshaws in Paris, but then again...i wasn't really looking either!? lol Interesting facts about how they're used and taxed, I would have never guessed it to be on a sliding scale of manpower. TE really is quite an educational site, in picture and text!
He may not be able to compete with the buses, but this would be a fun, and more personal way to get around town and probably pick up even more insider facts from a local. Noels note is perfect...the shark bus is on the prowl! haha Great shot, you timed it just right to show two different options of transportation in this active city. On y va!! :) Bonne semaine mon ami du Sud.

You narrated a very interesting as well as informative article about the rickshaw in European countries. In India it is very common and popular vehicle but here it is something different from out country. Nicely captured the moment, very colorful and well sharped image.
with warm regards and thanks, have a nice week,
