This is a view of the Palais de Chaillot from the top of the Eiffel Tower. The Trocadéro site of the Palais de Chaillot,is an area of Paris, France, in the 16th arrondissement, across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower. The hill of the Trocadéro is the hill of Chaillot, a former village.
For the Exposition Internationale of 1937, the old Palais du Trocadéro was demolished and replaced by the Palais de Chaillot which now tops the hill. It was designed in classicizing "moderne" style by architects Louis-Hippolyte Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Léon Azéma. Like the old palais, the palais de Chaillot features two wings shaped to form a wide arc: indeed, these wings were built on the foundations of those of the former building. However, unlike the old palais, the wings are independent buildings and there is no central element to connect them: instead, a wide esplanade leaves an open view from the place du Trocadéro to the Eiffel Tower and beyond.

I took a similar picture in November 2012. The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details, the colors of the gardens and of the Palais de Chaillot. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

A classic view from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Here I like the symmetry and the use of the Palace gardens to direct the viewer further into the scene. Also, the contrast in tone between foreground and background. The detail is very good indeed.

Il ne manque pas d'allure ce Palais. Et que dire des jardins. Le point de vue est impeccable ainsi que le cadrage large qui nous montre bien l'endroit dans toute sa splendeur.

I do like the symmetry of this spectacular view and the radiating patterns created by the streets.
The contrast between the tree lined park and buildings is also well portrayed.
Terrific sharpness and detail in an imaginative composition.

Always an impressive pov from the Eiffel tower, well framed with a symetrical result, good light and sharpness to present this famous palace.

Nice -almost aerial- view of Paris with this famous palais in the foreground.
Many interesting notes.
There was a joke in the sixties about the Eiffel tower. A Parisian artist once been asked which part of Paris is his favorite. He should been answered than top of the Eiffel tower, as you can not see the tower itself from there !
TFS and best regards

A nice symmetrical composition and a fine aerial view of Paris with the curved Palais de Chaillot making a splendid bg focal point. I have a similar shot in my gallery. Nice contrast between the greenery of the parks and the densely clustered urban buildings. Tfs!

Much seen, but not always so well as here. You took good advantage of the POV and the geometry of the theme, it's a catchy image. Regards, José.

Green trees contrast superbly against the city buildings, Asa. The town archi.-desgin and the meticulousely set-up of the streets and booulevard seen as a marvelous engineering work.
Great shot, clear day, people and cars excelently in sharp details.
Well done photojob.

i'm always a fan of such views from high up above.
so here we have a view of Paris from the Iconic Tower.
I like how there's so much greenery, North American cities could learn from this.
fun to see the large buildings, even from this height they still appear large on the street.
clic (14434) 2014-09-23 13:41
Given the flawless depiction, side-lit for crisp contrasts in town, I have the intense impression of a model cityscape featuring the 1937 planned new construction of Palais de Chaillot!
Many compliments for this superb take.
