After spending some time walking around Place du Tertre and dealing with the thousands of other tourists, I thought I’d take a break and grab a snack…so I put my camera away and found myself a crepe stand.
As I was waiting for my Nutella filled, mouth watering, tasty treat…these little guys decided to fly in and grab a bite of their own, or at least they stood by and hoped for a crumb or two to fall.
Knowing that I only had a quick moment, I reached back into my bag, grabbed the camera and snapped this shot. Unfortunately I didn’t have a smaller aperture setting or time to make the adjustment, so the focus isn’t sharp throughout, but I did manage to get one of ‘em in detail. As soon as I took one step closer, they flew away.
They should have stayed, I had more than plenty of crepe to share. :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Those sparrows knows when is the right time to collect some leftovers, Jason.
Cute little birds, we have them in abundance in Israel.
Nice taken the moment, the hand of the cook is yet another subject added to the scene.
Have a nice Sunday,

Hi Jason, You continue with the food theme, I see. Lovely sparrows. Earlier there were so many of them, I had always at my widows, nosw they almost completely disappeared. But where do you go to eat? It doesn't look like made in Paris, with Nestea, Minute Maid, Seven Up :(. Well, Crepes maybe, but with Nutella too sweet.
Have agreat Sunday

What a great observation! Well seen and taken image with a creative composition and cropping to get such an interesting scene. Like your note too. TFS.

you did well for a quick snap. You must have sharp reflexes. You've even managed a decent composition too with the red sign on the right at the thirds line.
It's made me smile.

I think you do it on purpose:)exactly when I start thinking about lunch:)Don´t even start reading your note.Just the first gaze at it-my eyes captured Nutella and now I´m glad I still have a jar of Nutella in my kitchen:)
Ok.but now seriously Jason-you have really good intuition for this kind of shots.
Interesting, extremly tasty and funny.Looks like you were fourth in the line after these sparrows:)
Take care my friend

Les oiseaux semblent apprécier leur point de vue sur les crêpes en pleine cuisson sur ces plaques rondes très chaudes en espérant grappiller quelques miettes au passage.J'aime bien cette fumée de chaleur qui entoure la main du cuisinier.

For such a quick shot, you got a great composition, the red menu on the right is an important part of the scene, and I can see on reading that why these little feathery fiends are there. Although, I suspect that may not be as much into a point of Bavaria as I would be!
Its amazing how quickly these little flighty birds can become tame. I actually have a house robin here at home, little robin redbreast who has become so used to me (and my dog) that he actually hops into the house and sits in the kitchen chirping for food. I had heard the phrase house robin before, but feel quite proud now I have my own one :)
I wonder if the cooking has ever gone wrong to the point that somebody ended up with a little more meat in their pancake than they planned?
Thanks for making me hungry again!
All the best

You have a great talent for excellent snapshots. I've also few of this type, but yours is splendid. You have excellently laced the hungry sparrows in front of small snacks "kitchen". You have also very well included the red board.
Very well done.

it's a lovely scene with daily life information and the birdies so well placed in the frame among the significant details. This looks like a scene from a children's story, each hero has a different attitude and they are conceived as a group too. I like very much the perspective, the tight framing, the mysterious working hand and some of the options offered by this crepe stand:) A wonderful quick capture, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Yes, a good title, there is a moment to stop, put camera aside and enjoy the place.... du Tertre in this case
Like the the quick capture of the waiting birds ( are they sparrows ? ) the one in the middle seems "focus" on you, well cropped and framed daily life scene
From the offered drinks I would have chosen a Perrier to go along some NOT Nutella crepe
Congrats for the , till now , good performance of
Maria, from South America

I somehow missed this delightful shot before. There's a saying about fried sparrows flying into your mouth. I do hope nobody discovered a fried sparrow in his/her crepe. But why do you ever keep the camera hidden in your bag?
Gigidusud (21247) 2014-06-24 14:14

Before I read your note, I wasn't too sure who was having whom for snacks. I am glad your note cleared it up.
As for why they didn't stay, it might be that their spelling isn't too good. The stand might have had a sign about crepe, but who knows what they thought it was!
PS. About that additional advice on floating in salty waters, we were not told that. I am glad I didn't try, although the position we floated wasn't conducive to trying it discreetly, anyway. ;-)
