So here I was, gazing out of my hotel window and taking in the stylish Gare du Nord train station, when I looked down and saw this little scene taking place. Nothing unusual, and although not lined up side by side…it was the blue sweater, white shirt, and red jacket combination which caught my eye, and just so happened to be in the same arrangement as the French flag. It was a photo destined to be taken!! :)
With completely empty Coke bottles and coffee cups, it must have been an enjoyable break for this group. I’m a big Coke drinker myself, so I applaud their choice. lol
Just another day in the life of Parisian streets, from a birds eye view this time…which I’m sure is perceived as multiple “targets!”
Thanks for stopping by.

this is something I've started to do as well, capturing photos from above looking down on people..
this is probably the view that birds have on us before they start dropping you know what!!! lol
I have to admit, it DOES look pretty tempting to 'let one loose' on the people below lol...not that subject though, I'm thinking something more clean :)
I'll just stop before I get too far ahead!
So are you a coffee drinker? I really dislike the taste of anything mocha, coffee, even deserts with that coffee/mocha flavor turn me off!
Like you, i love pop...Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sprite, 7-UP..I can go on and on!
In the states its easy to get different flavors too, flavors that we don't get in Canada.
For example, Cherry flavored coke and Dr. Pepper...yummy!!
Now i've gotten myself totally distracted!
if you look closely, its interesting how the older couple are facing each other intimately, while the younger couple are sitting side by side - however it does look like they're holding hands.
see you around

Hi, my friend,
Oh, I love this kind of the daily life photos. You are just a paparazzi here ;)) Amazing comparison withe the French flag, you are right. It's true )))
I wanna be there! Check your e-mail box.

Good idea, it's original for the pov to capture the scenne with people, good light and colors management.

Nice shot, full of colour and lazy atmosphere. Attractive colours of the sweaters and shirts, they probably weren't aware you were making photo of them. As to the table content, I do not drink coffee and also I must be VERY thirsty to have Coke, hot tea is always the best for me. So I wouldn't join them.
Warm regrads Malgo

un piacevole omaggio ai famosi caffè di Parigi, è sempre un piacere fermarsi per una sosta e osservare la città che si muove intorno a noi.
Ottimo pov, sfruttato al meglio, una intromissione discreta, senza turbare la privacy.
Kamilutka (8107) 2014-02-12 23:50
I like it, and the unusual POV helps to achieve quite original result.
The party looks nicely relaxed and happy with each other and obviously the drinks have been just the pretext to meet up and catch up.
Nicely combined colors with contrasting effect. Good sharpness and interesting tight framing very suitable for this picture.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

superb bird eye view! This is a perspective, which makes the scene takes on a completely new meaning, than if you would take it from a street level.
And I agree here with Serghei´s opinion-this POV gives us great "paparazzi"feeling to the scene(in the best sense of the word-unlike the guys climbing the trees or chasing their "victims" with scooter:)
Take care my friend

I like this Jason. To my mind part of the success of this shot lies in the colours; the reds and greens run through the composition giving balance. Nicely seen from above and very well managed too. Me? I'll go with coffee or tea. I'm not a fizzy drink fan unless it's G&T. Warm regards Rosemary
ikeharel (73549) 2014-02-13 2:02
A sight you can see around Paris almost everywhere, yet taken from a special POV, Jason.
Fine composed image, people not really aware about you taken the shot, not acting for you and a well done technically.
rbassin (23407) 2014-02-13 2:14
C'est bien observé et une bonne prise de vue.
en effet les 3 couleurs bleu blanc rouge et la scène au coin d'une terrasse sont très agréables.

Hanging out of hotel windows again I see ;-)
A seagull's eye view this and a really wonderful glimpse of Parisian leisure time. Love the flag analogy here it just add that little je ne sais quoi. And to think I failed my French oral tests at school. Steady Jason!
A lesson for me this shot, as I very rarely try and capture humans in my images, but this is a fascinating study that is full of wonderful detail and interaction. I love the comment "it was a photo destined to be taken" and also reading about Craig's love of fizzy drinks too. You boys across the pond do like your pop don’t ya! Even your chewing gum has a multitude of flavours. Whoever thought up Grape as a flavour was a genius.
5K Olympic Champion!!

A good idea to take pictures from your hotel, you may catch scenes with people without them noticing you. Here you found some good colours that are in a fine harmony and balance.

I like pictures that show "nothing unusual". Glimpses from ordinary people's ordinary lives are often a lot more interesting than carefully planned compositions. This is a nice glimpse of that kind from an amusing POV. Maybe they were intentionally wearing the colors of a flag, but maybe they were thinking of the US colors, or Dutch, or Russian. Or possibly a flag that also includes green. There must be one somewhere.

A good cup of coffee is very nice to drink, I am a coffee drinker, a good espresso is beautiful. "Ristretto" is the best of the coffee sorts.
Sharpness and clarity be superb.
Excellent composition, lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Enjoy the day ahead,

J'aime beaucoup la relation entre les couleurs que les gens portent et le drapeau français. En plus, la personne en vert est coordonnée avec la couleur de la table. Personnellement, le café demeure le numéro 1 dans cette situation.

Hi Jason. Drinking coffee and talking. The view from above shows so many nice details. Well seen and realized.

Hi Jason, very good view of this interesting scene of everyday life, with an interesting POV well captured in this great and beautiful photography. Interesting picture with good sharpness, light and color. Excellent and nice job perfectly done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this interesting work.
Good afternoon and happy weekend.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

a very delightful scene. I would feel very lucky to find it just under my window, would stare for a while (as I'm doing now:) I love the depth and the colours as well as the tight framing that has brought them even closer. They have improvised a fine layout and the neighbouring table enriches and solidifies the composition. A wonderful opportunity for human study -body language, clothes, colours and choice of drinks give us such a great material that facial features and expressions have become insignificant. Definition is excellent and the vividness of the scene is stunning. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Hi Jason,a great gift to a barman like me,this looks like pics that i caught from my home that is located over my bar..ehehe..nice idea and perfect quality..as usual..ehehe..Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Ha! Ha! Jason, I was going to say, a golden opportunity but it was, in fact, a red, white and blue opportunity. The colours are paramount in the shot. I like the circular arrangement it makes an unusual but attractive composition.
Me, not a fan of fizzy drinks, unless as a mixer; whisky and Canada dry, vodka and tonic, ...!
Have a great w/e,

Hola mon ami du Nord
A great super parisian shot, taken in a relaxed way because they couldn t imagine you on top of them

danos (99816) 2014-02-14 7:45
nice the above snapshot that looks like as a paparazzi one.I like the creative perspctive, the light and the colour management as the clarity of the scene.Well done.

A nice birds eye view, taken perhaps as you had fallen from your balloon chair and wanted one more shot on the way down? I like that you spot the flag here too, that one eluded me without your note.
However, my pepsi max shaped eye looks over that coke bottle with a barely concealed contempt.....hahaha, remember the taste tests they used to do in shopping centres? I used to deliberately say the wrong one to annoy them. I was an annoying child :)
I raise a Pepsi to you from this side of the Atlantic. Oh, and the day that's in it, did you know that St Valentine is buried in Dublin? Now if the zombie invasion comes, that's gotta be the leader of the pack.
cheers and slainte

Ciao dear American Dirtbag
How goes it?
Love this typically Parisian scene. If the people relaxing drinking coffee weren't enough to tell us where we are, the rattan chairs, so distinctive of the Parisian café certainly do. Again a fantastic POV, I like this bystander kind of composition. What a great place you must have stayed. Excellent colours, definition and contrast. Great work!
