Photographer's Note

As anyone that’s come to know me, I’ve mentioned it ad nauseam that my favorite color is blue…so it was only natural that my eyes gravitated towards this particular bakery. In fact, I can’t even remember consciously taking the picture…I believe my mind and body switched into “auto-pilot’ and snapped the shot. :) I can only vaguely recall voluntary muscle movement.

I had actually gone to this spot in The Marais district to try a well known falafel restaurant that I had read about in a guide book. Having never eaten one before, and based on the rave reviews, I figured I’d give it a whirl. Well, as you can see by the WS picture, the place is insanely popular…queues in both directions!

On the opposite corner of the tiny square/street was this boulangerie, which I found to be much more interesting and aesthetically pleasing…and so of course, *click*!

Just me, or does this look like a little HDR'sh? I was perplexed by the final result. I don’t own any software or programs to create that effect, nor do I possess the PP skills to manipulate it that way…and yet it somehow turned out to have that appearance. Crazy!?

And if you’re interested, I did try a falafel at the place next door…I wasn’t about to wait in those lines, I had to eat and get back to taking pictures! :) As far as the the sandwich itself, not really my thing…good enough, but I’ll take a steak-frite or doner kebab any day of the week instead.

Thanks for stopping by.
