A very common scene during the summer months along the banks of the Seine, and this one was even more active and crowded because of a small wine and cheese event that was taking place in this particular area.
I had already snapped plenty of pictures of the Notre Dame itself, so I thought I’d try using it as a backdrop instead for this shot. With hundreds of people and spots to choose from, the guy in the immediate foreground is the one that caught my eye for his Roman-esque type statue of a pose. Not only that, but I figured I could also catch him stuffing that sandwich into his piehole…and what do you know, I did! :)
So there you have it, one of the simple pleasures of Paris, enjoying a little riverside snack …and having a view like this.
Thanks for stopping in for a look.

una vista molto originale su Notre-Dame, mi piace come hai composto la foto, con molta attenzione ai particolari, come i lampioni e le persone che camminano sul ponte.
Bella la luce che colpisce le persone in primo piano.

dining in front of the Notre Dame must be a great experience. You can eat, watch the life around and enjoy the atmosphere of the place and the moment.Something I really like while being on vacation and something I photograph with pleasure.
Here You´ve chosen superb POV and perspective to immortalize this scene and to convey its unique atmosphere.
Brilliant composition my friend!
Have a good day

Wine and cheese? How European. I know if this were Dublin, it would more likely be a breakfast roll sampling event. Not sure if breakfast rolls are as common in your part of the world, but they are a big thing here, and go a long way to explaining why everybody is getting so fat :)
This is a cool combination of classical architecture, which is what caught my eye first, and candid photography. As I look at Mr Pie Hole stuffer, I just think of the cookie monster and those fine noises he makes. Nyom nyom nyom.......
Masterful use of the light too, I know I would have messed up either the upper or lower part of this frame!
Thanks as always, and all the best from the soggy rock,.

Oh man I have to go pack to Paris...I was there for only 2 short quick days about 8 years ago, and it was basically pouring rain all the time. And 1 of those days was when our flight arrived late in the evening.
Gotta get back there.
So whats that red and white sign? is it a 'do not enter' sign? probably...
a relaxing day, cool architecture and cool food, not sure what else you could ask for.
looks like you had some awesome weather.
see you around!

La décontraction à la française. C'est un endroit parfait pour s'asseoir sur les rives de la Seine. Et quel beau spectacle à admirer pendant que la vie passe lentement. Un point de vue parfait pour obtenir un aussi bel arrière plan.

Excellent snapshot with superb background. Nice to see the people relaxing on the Seine river bank, enjoying the Paris sunlight. I like the arrangement in portrait format. The late afternoon light is very good and your viewpoint perfect.
Jut to comment on your comment, in canton Graubuebden you can find a very nice mixture of houses, wooden and also stone/brick houses. The stone/brick houses have usually nice colourful painting (the pink in my photo is nothing very special in this part of Switzerland).
Wish you a very nice rest of the week.

The sight of the calm Siene makes one hungry, must consume something along with eyes watching the beautiful surrounding.
Nice taken the moment, Jason, magnificent how the church rises from the other side of the river.

There are indeed many pictures of this church here on TE. This one, with the focus on people around is definitely much better. Here is a very pleasant atmosphere with people enjoying the warm weather. A very attractive picture.

a very attractive composition: a subtle perspective and a narrow frame full of architectural and human interest. Everything and everyone is arranged within the frame superbly, the background is imposing and significant and the people along the bank and the bridge provide great vividness and reference and help us to relate to and enjoy this place even more. I like very much the colours and the atmosphere, the sweet warm light and the harmonious way it's fused with the shadows. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Good idea, framing these casual diners with the bridge leading to Notre Dame. Now, you framed these diners, but who framed Roger Rabbit?

I like the relaxed and leisurely atmosphere you have captured in this photo. The impressive architecture of the building provides an amazing backdrop to the scene. Looks like these people are spending some quality time in each others company and your photo portrays that effectively. Nice natural colours and light. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer This point of view on the cathedral in the evening
It's a good composition
If I was there I'll made a stitch with another picture to show the top of the black arrow :)

You know how many Americans dream of this having this casual dinner? Very cool shot. I love it, not just a typical post card like shot of the famous Notre Dame. The inclusion of the people enjoying a meal by the rivers make is more of a daily life, it depict the reality of what it is like being there and not just looking at the place without knowing the surrounding environment. I like that approach as well. I like how they paired up in 3 different groups, and love the casual and relaxing atmosphere, just enjoying the moment, doesan't really matter the locations. Though the background is very well caputred as well with lots of details with really good DoF.

A very beautiful shot and a good combination of interesting architecture and a relaxing moment in the daily life.
I like that composition in different horizontal layers.
Very good depth.
Best regards, Paul

An oldie but a goodie, interesting now that you decide to bring it out of your archives. I like the golden light a lot and the way you composed it using a vertical frame and that fantastic backdrop. The sky is a little blown out, but the compensation is that wonderful warm golden light.
Well done, thanks for sharing, have a great weekend

What can I say? Good place for relax with the Notre Dame on the background. I like this Parisienne sketch and I miss the warm days in France too.
You've aske me about the weather. But I just don't walk on the streets without some urgent necessity. ;))
Best wishes, my friend!

well spotted scene and very well composed. Tight framing in here works very well for the whole image. I like how the cathedral in the background gives us the idea of the location. The composition has many layers and I like how each of them has some interesting details to catch the eye. Nice and natural colors and proper focus.
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day

What other than you has waited in front of Notre Dame for a poor guy to eat?
Great and quiet place to enjoy views, realx, talk and eat, well done, people add interest at the capture for sure
To have the famous cathedral at the back is a great bonus, indeed an original and creative capture
Well done my friend from the very north
I catch you, I dont write Breaking Bad but Walter White , so you must search ( You already told me, you didnt watch this serie)
