Photographer's Note
I had just arrived to the metro platform when I looked across the tracks and saw this candid scene. Although it’s painfully obvious that I used the cameras flash, and knew I had to, I couldn’t resist grabbing a quick shot. With the next metro car soon to arrive, low light conditions and no time to set up a tripod I opened up the aperture as wide as possible, boosted the ISO, activated the flash and snapped away.
I received some rather inquisitive expressions from people on both sides, but I think it was worth looking like the obvious tourist. My formative musical years were during the 80’s too, so it was a nice bonus that the background signage was for one of my favorite bands from that era.

Hi Jason,
as a fan of subways and other means of transport I really like your composition.Even if it doesn´t show any metro train it captures perfectly the atmosphere of the station and people waiting for the next train. And the kissing couple makes we believe we´re in Paris-the city of love:)
Superb snapshot from the subway station!
Have a good day

Hi Jason
a great snap-shot of life as it happens this. Very artistic and modern with real character and originality. Like it a lot.
May interest you to know that I worked in London with Depeche Mode's Andy Fletcher (the guy on the left in the glasses) before DP really took off in the 70's. Never got any free albums though, I had to buy them.
Enjoy a good week - Brian.

Hi Jason,
Not always people like to be surprise by a paparazzi, but from the opposite platform they are in captivity by the photographer.
Looking on people in daily-life scene, like in RR satations, airports etc', can provide interesting sceneries.
Just like applied here.
Well managed the indoor's light.

Hi Jason,
Love this shot! I am a big fan of Depeche Mode and the huge poster of the Universe Tour caught my attention. Brilliant scene very well seen and presented. Thanks for sharing.

Hello John,
As a Depeche Mode's fan, of course, your photo reminds me the group's last tour... and I'm delighted to assist to the next tour's first date, in Nice, in less than two months now ! Nice scene and good colors, I'm pleased with your photo too !
Have a nice evening,
Sylvain

Hello Jason,
Great subway shot! It has a little bit of everything: a giant poster, interesting tiles, a kissing couple! I like the candid feeling of this photo, and the curved shape of the wall behind the people. Nice framing, too. :-)

Hello
Superbe scène d'amour et de métro deux amoureux qui s'embrassent en attendant le métro, ces personnages assis sur le banc rogue et l'affiche qui suit le long du mur du métro merveilleux.
Bravo et amitié

Hello Jason
Oh yeah, the good ol Depeche Mode, this where our times.
Like you I love to take this kind of candid street shot and Metro stations all over the world are always a perfect place for this kind of shots.
Here we have ourselfs a very fine example, the kissing couple, the girl looking approvingly at them and the oblivious lady on the side, all add up to a great every day scene. Truly well spotted and very good reacted to it.
have a good evening

Hello Jason,
This is an wonderful daily moment. The couple of tourists have their moment and the woman watch the scene with a smile in her face. Unfortunately i don't know the group background. It is a lovely moment.
Have a nice evening,
Regards,
Maria

Hi, Jason,
I like your latest post, but this capture of a daily life scene is more interesting for me. Just a little love story. Depeche Mode means a OST for this scene. (Maybe "Personal Jesus" ))
Thanks for this sharing!
Have a great weekend!
