Looking from the Sacré-Cœur over Paris
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica (French: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, pronounced [sakʁe kœʁ]), is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. A popular landmark, the basilica is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. Sacré-Cœur is a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the supposed excesses of the Second Empire and socialist Paris Commune of 1871 crowning its most rebellious neighborhood, and an embodiment of conservative moral order, publicly dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was an increasingly popular vision of a loving and sympathetic Christ.

The Sacré-Cœur Basilica was designed by Paul Abadie. Construction began in 1875 and was finished in 1914. It was consecrated after the end of World War I in 1919.

Uw foto is zeker zijn twee punten waard, en niets aantrekken van de vorige schrijver.
U gebruikt perfect de poort als frame, en bent u mede getuige samen met de andere bezoekers, van een mooi panorama over de wereld stad Parijs.
Mooi foto werk, bedankt.

like your originality here. Paris is a popular TE destination but this brings a different perspective on the City and the view from Sacre-Coeur. Great height to the image and a real sense of atmosphere and involvement. Excellent!

I like the view here. from thumbnail picture I thought there is see at background. from the bigger view it is obvious that it was just eye illusion. Good timing to include mark of plane in the sky, it also gives dynamic to you picture. congrats

L'arche crée un beau cadre à la photo. La composition est intéressante, comme le sont ces gens chaudement couverts, tournés vers l'extérieur. Le ciel et la lumière sont superbes. Excellentes composition et réalisation. Bravo.

Hi Eric,

I've been lucky enough to enjoy this view myself, it's really a beautiful sight in every direction. I love how you've arranged this shot, using the arch as a natural frame and extending the vertical format. The lady sitting in the foreground is a fantastic touch, especially with the soft sunlight on her hair. The cloud formation and exhaust trail from a passing plane create a dynamic element. My favorite thing about this though is the lighting coming in from the right side, it gives dimension to the entire scene and has been well managed to enhance that effect. Impressive photo, well done!

You managed the challenging shooting-into-the light pretty well here. Viewing the skyline below thru the arch is indeed good vision as displayed and there's a good lead in to explore further into the outer view. The portion of stunning blue above is attractive too as nice addition to the whole capture. I love the extensive depth, perspective and viewpoint with a sense of 3D feel and nice coloring too, Very well done indeed, Congrats

What a great way to frame Paris. I have visited the place but I think this is the first time I've seen it like that. Lovely light, also shadows show well that to that the sun is behind that column.

Toch wel een originele foto van de Sacré-Cœur.
De boog is een prachtig kader voor het zicht over de uitgestrekte stad en nog meer het zicht op de mooie wolken en het condensspoor van het vliegtuig dat mooi geplaatst is.
De vele bezoekers zorgen voor een sfeervolle foto.
Uitstekend dieptegevoel.
