Photographer's Note
When I was a boy we lived in Paris, refugees from Yugoslavia. My father had fled several years before and after he had established himself in Paris, we were reunited there. I have very fond memories of Paris and I still remember its monuments, parks and the horse steaks my father made me eat. I went to school there for almost three years and I remember how the teachers told us when school had finished to hurry straight home as this was the time when the Algerians were fighting for their freedom and explosions were frequent in Paris.
One memorable day was when we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower and I persuaded my dad to let me take a photo. He had a new Foca SPORT C and no one was allowed to touch it.

Klaudio,

Hello Klaudio,
You take better pictures these days, but when a photo is more than half a century old it automatically gets wrapped in an all forgiving nostalgia. My oldest picture here is from 1964 and I have nothing going any further back. I think for those who know Paris well this view should offer some very interesting details.
Thanks for showing,
Gert

Hello Claudio
Your note makes an interesting photograph really mesmerising. It's a real vintage print, but apart from the grain, mainly apparent in the sky, this is top quality! Did you scan the print or the original "1st generation" negative? I imagine we could see la Défense if you were to take the same shot now. Its patina of age reminds me of other photographers of Paris, notably Brassaï, Eugene Atget and Robert Doisneau. If you can hold your head up in that company, you're a photographer!!

Will

Hi Klaudio
Thank you for sharing this, I find these old black and white photographs fascinating. Good to see grain and contrast - something I sometimes miss when looking at the product of the new all-signing all-dancing digital cameras!
Have a nice weekend

Hi dear Klaudio,
You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent B/W tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the entire image in Paris about fifty yeas ago where the recollections of your childhood term are choked up. The Arch of Triumph and the major roads can be seen from a photograph, but the global image of the town has not still changed.
Kind regards,
mikio
