A view of one of Montmartre's quiet residential streets.

Montmartre has always been a Mont and the streets around it reflect a peculiarly flamboyant disregard for anything straight. Some even seem to have started off higher up and then slid down only to collide, at impossible angles, with the tangle of equally convoluted streets further down.

If one lived in the area one could understand a certain gait developing that had to do with compensating for the lack of flat surfaces and straight lines. It is possible that Picasso, who painted here may have developed his unique style as a direct response to the terrain – everything is off at an angle.

come ho detto prima a Georgios, molte volte le luci non forti regalano delle belle immagini all'interno di queste stradine in angoli meno noti delle città.

Hello Ovidiu,

It is always nice to view these residential streets which are normally very quiet. Lovely cobble stoned path with beautiful architectural homes on both sides of this winding road. The weather seems to be a bit dull but the view is very nice.

I particularly like the natural sepia tones of that time of the evening in summer, but I think your image could benefit from a little more light. I add a small workshop just to show you what I mean.

J'aime ces images de Paris vues sous un angle différent.
L'ambiance est fort bien reproduite.
La rue pavée et sinueuse. Le ciel intervient également beaucoup dans la beauté générale.
