As a man aspiring to be a photographer, I know I am not the first person to have looked through the viewfinder at the many architecture treasures of the world, nor will I be the last. It’s the prospect of putting my own interpretation on what I see is what drives & excites me. In my quest of seeing & showing Paris differently, render well-known topics as fresh images....familiar landmarks from a not-so-common point of view.......
Notre Dame, the most visited site in Paris, with 10 million people crossing its threshold each year, is not just a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture but has also been the focus of Catholic Paris for seven centuries. It is also the true heart of Paris; in fact, distances from Paris to all parts of metropolitan France are measured from place du Parvis Notre Dame, the square in front of Notre Dame. The cathedral is on a very grand scale; the interior alone is 130m long, 48m wide and 35m high and can accommodate more than 6000 worshippers.
Notre Dame Cathedral has a striking gothic exterior, two broad towers, and plenty of sweeping arches. The gothic exterior is full of intricate details and the ornate interior is light and airy. Notre Dame is known for its sublime balance, although if one looks closely you’ll see many minor asymmetrical elements introduced to avoid monotony, in accordance with standard Gothic practice.
To appreciate the features of Notre Dame Cathedral better, I approached from the park behind the cathedral, Square Jean XXIII, for an impressive view of the structure. This park provides one of the best views of the mass of ornate flying buttresses that encircle the chancel and support its walls and roof.

Hello Angshu - A splendid composition. The spires on the cathedral almost lining up perfectly with the spire on the fountain in the FG creating harmony and balance. I like the inclusion of the line of trees on the LHS, they balance well with the greenery of the RHS and together they add a softness to the shot.Warm regards rosemary

There are sights that have been photographed thousand of times before, but once you stand in front of it yourself it's hard to resist to make your own interpretation. The combination of the foreground fountain and the cathedral gives the photo a strong vertical emphasis and the lines of trees create diagonals that lead us up to the church. There is a small red dot among the pedestrians that breaks the colour scheme nicely.
I would have like to take this picture too.

Hello Dear Angshuman-san,
The east end of this view reveals well both the lower and the upper flying buttresses. Did you also see a model of this cathedral displayed in the interior of the structure? Together with the most refined bar tracery of the two rose windows, these most elegant flying buttresses capture those who come into contact with them. As I encountered for the first time the cathedral, I remember well how this view became one of the most frequently visited POV. But I don’t remember if I ever pointed my camera at it from this point of view, perhaps yes, but then again perhaps no. Those flying buttresses are one of the most elegant versions one can visit and see anywhere. It is absolutely astonishing how thin and refined the buttresses can become. I have been sitting here and looking at your photo for sometime now. I am convinced also that you are very intrigued and captured by the beauty of them. And the photo shows us very well your feeling towards the subject. The charm of this image lies with the photographer and his mind. We can imagine well and we feel well what you felt. It is a very successful view. It is a very charming one.
With my very best wishes,
Have a very pleasant Sunday, Angshuman-san

Namaste, my friend Angshuman,
I like the vision of Notre Dame that you offer us in your composition, in which you have caught its back with its impressive buttresses, its magnificent Gothic structure, its roof and its towers. The element of the square located in foreground complements very well the graphical ensemble.
An excellent light and a beautiful colors, specially in the well polarized sky, in order to obtain a very attractive photo.
It's a superb work.

Namaskar dear Angshu
What a beautiful title to your superb photo. The POV is one I don't often see, which is saying something as there are only so many angles this icon can be taken on. The monument on the right is a beautiful addition to the photo and I love the deep colours you obtained, despite the quite harsh light.
Nice work, as alway, an enviable photo
