It was still early in the morning; the sunlight was reaching all the way into my room illuminating the objects on the shelf fixed on the opposite side of the wall from the window. The intensity of the light has not only wakened the little wooden figure on the shelf. It has woken me up. I noticed the dark shadow on the back wall. And as I watched, the shadow was moving at a visible speed. As the position of the sun was changing the shapes of the shadow of the wooden figure were changing. It was as if the shadow of the figure was dancing on the wall. I reached for my camera and have taken this photo. The dance did not last for a long time. It disappeared not long after I took the photograph.

Hi Nobu. An interesting Phboto. It is a kind of artistic still life. I like the fgeinen shades between black and white. Sepia also works well. Well done and worth seeing. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Interesting photo and excelent B&W view but..on my oppinion i thinq about that are reaalyplaces on TrekLens. It's like abstract image because i not see people, street live or theater scene with one dancer.
I wish you Good Light!

It is a real artistic composition, with a great harmony of the forms and an excellent distribution of the light. The quality is excellent. Congratulations.

Early morning and late night shadows are always mesmerizing. This seems very Cézannesque to me, the different levels of light/shade on the plate, the apple, the wall...the texture of the wall and the way it echoes the texture of the apple which seems a bit wrinkly-skinned...ah, quite lovely. And the dancer might have come from that little shop near Blvd. St. Germain...
Sepia is perfect.

nice the synthesis that looks like more as a painting lesson, with the shadow of the wooden man on the wall, the characteristic apple and the other elements of the photo.Of course and the shadow would was on the wall for some sec and after that would was disappeared. The Sepia tones of the scenery making the synthesis more effective.

Superb photographic composition, dear Nobu, looks like a painting in B & W, even if you have given a pleasant sepia tones. I believe that this picture is very artistic, where you played wonderfully with the light and shadows, choosing the right subjects to compose the image. Excellent shot, my friend, sometimes the early morning brings good ideas like this :-)
Ciao, have a nice Friday!

The sepia is a good choice for this still life. The artist's miniature mannequin overseeing the plate with an apple (beginning to shrivel). The position of the mannequin, fists on the hips, is perfect. The polished metal pitcher on the side makes a very good counterpoint to the statuette.
I have been very busy lately, traveling, giving lectures, writing... among others NGS Blor

Salut mon cher Nobu
What an unusual still life: you keep some unusual objects at your bedside I must say :) I LOVE the (pewter?) urn in part shadow and of course the shadow of the dancer is a wonderful effect along with the apple. And is that a fobwatch to the left of the frame? Fascinating! The sepia treatment was an excellent idea too.
Warmest regards, I am thinking of you

Hello Dear Nobu,
This photo offers an excellent example of the contrast between light and dark. Although the viewer is drawn towards the dancer and his shadow, I find the objects hiding in the dark at the right to be as interesting. It is as if they are audiences of a play where the main actor, the dancer, is illuminated by a spotlight.
With warm regards,
