Last year it snowed in November or December in Paris. This year Paris is experiencing a long Indian summer. During the summer it is always very difficult to find an empty bench. Parks are always full of people. But once the season ends and the autumn arrives, we find the benches all empty. The shadows of the benches become longer by day. The trees begin to dress in colourful outfits. I love the season, which is serene and full of tranquility. We can sit on any bench that we would like but we can be sure that we will be alone. I used to walk through Jardin Du Luxemburg daily and used to observe the colours of the seasons. I can do that no longer, but I can still hear the colours of the season; my friends call me and tell me the colours of Paris.

As the summer ends and fall begins people tend to disappear thus the empty bench. Simple but effective composition. Nice capture of the change of weather. Good pov and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

Mmmm ... must be lovely to sit on this bench (with your partner, because it seems very idyllic!) And enjoy the Parisian atmosphere in this time of year. I love these fall colors flooded the park and the city and the composition you have chosen to show this intimate place ...
You were on holiday in Paris or lived some time?
Have a great week,

Salut mon cher Nobu
This is such a poetic scene, and your note is even more wistful and poetic. So beautiful. Perhaps it echoes your feelings at the moment. I received your email and sent one in reply. My thoughts are with you and your family. To your photo, it is beautifully and very thoughtfully composed. I love the autumn colours and the ornate old bench. They do not make them like that anymore. Wonderufl seasonal colours and the fallen leaves on the foreground are the icing on the cake.

Autumn ambiance well collected, Nobu, all this leaves on ground and colors are lovely.
No person in sight, probably the Indian-summer was over...

Un très bel avant plan au travers de ce banc à l'architecture détaillée, ambiance d'automne tout autour de lui et grâce aux couleurs des arbres de l'arrière plan. Bonne lumière et excellent cadrage

Autumn is my favorite season, I think, even though it is melancholy in a way. This bench is lovely although not very comfortable! I like the contrast of the yellow leaves and the dark tree trunks, and I like very much the way you have placed the two tree trunks, one at the right side on the very edge. I take lots of photos of trees and always dither about how to do this. Bravo, nicely done with the angled bench and other benches receding in layers...
(lots of rain here)

You create a lovely picture, be careful with too much sharpness, this is never good for the quality of the picture.
Lovely autumn colors of the leaves of the trees.
Perspective and depth are very well.
Nice captured and good composed. TFS.

very nice the vertical format of the scene with the trunks of the trees in a pleasant harmony. The yellow leafs of the tree on the backdrop make the scene more effective and more Autumn. The bench on the foreground is a nice optical effect of the image.

though sometimes we can not physically return to the place which we often visited or stayed at... which we enjoyed and which was part of our daily life, we still can try to feel it again with the help of the photos (and - yes, with the help of friends, too).
In my opinion, photos (digital or analogue) not only "technically" imprint what the camera captures, - photos also convey part of our feelings and thoughts as well: what we felt of thought at the moment of shooting.
Of course, in this case only we - authors of photos - can feel that moment again as fully as it was, - but if such a photo touches someone else's soul and heart, it means it's a "live" photo - a photo with a true spirit and mood - not merely a "technical" digital or analogue "imprint".
This is the kind of photo I've just mentioned. it's touching, it's very nice, it's romantic, it's philosophic... and it has an excellent vertical composition :)
Warm greetings from semi-warm Moscow,

Hello dear Nobu-san
The focal point of the empty bench has been well done! Like autumn colours in the BG. The frame with the trees has been well done. Like the leaves which has fallen on the ground. The scene has something poetic about it & in the sombre light which casts muted shadows. Well done!
Best Regards & have a good week ahead!

Hello Dear Nobu,
This picture of a desolate Parisian park conjures up an image of late 19th century Paris. The lack of outstanding features adds to the peaceful beauty of the scene, and encourages the viewer to imagine him/herself sitting on the bench, alone, just observing and enjoying the fall colors.
With warm regards,
