This is a portrait of the leader of that Jazz band I already saw several times on the bridge leading from the "Cité" island to the "Saint-Louis" island in the very historical center of Paris, about 100 metres in a back street of the "Notre-Dame" location.
Yesterday, they were only three courageous of them on the windy freezing bridge. The low winter light of the sun was hitting his face in a great way as a tribute to their very nice jazzy american songs. That light could have been the spotlight of a concert hall.
My only regret was the background. I could capture one of his colleague with the Paris City hall in the background but for him it was impossible since he sat to low compared to the bridge fence.
Cropped a little bit to exclude one of his colleague, levels and tones adjusted. USM applied.

Very beautiful portrait. The B&W is well choosen and the light is for me just perfect. Seems even too heavy light for me since he is twinkling of an eye.
Great one with a perfect DOF

Wow! These serires of Jazz band portraits, Steven, are fantastic. These very dark B&W tones are magnificent! One of the best of your works! Very fine! Bravo!

Very cool Steven! I love the squint! This had a very 1930s gangster feel. Excellent control of contrast and DoF. Cheers!
