Photographer’s Note
Notre Dame de Paris ('Our Lady of Paris' in French) is a Gothic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France, with its main entrance to the west. It is the cathedral of the Catholic archdiocese of Paris: that is, it is the church that contains the "cathedra", or official chair, of the Archbishop of Paris, Andre Cardinal Vingt-Trois. Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in the world. It was restored and saved from destruction by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, one of France's most famous architects. The name Notre Dame means "Our Lady" in French, and is frequently used in the names of Catholic church buildings in Francophone countries.
Notre Dame de Paris was one of the first Gothic cathedrals, and its construction spanned the Gothic period. Its sculptures and stained glass show the heavy influence of naturalism, unlike that of earlier Romanesque architecture.
Notre Dame de Paris was among the first buildings in the world to use the flying buttress (arched exterior supports). The building was not originally designed to include the flying buttresses around the choir and nave. After the construction began and the thinner walls (popularized in the Gothic style) grew ever higher, stress fractures began to occur as the walls pushed outward. In response, the cathedral's architects built supports around the outside walls, and later additions continued as such.
The cathedral suffered desecration during the radical phase of the French Revolution in the 1790s, when much of its religious imagery was damaged or destroyed. During the 19th century, an extensive restoration project was completed, returning the cathedral to its previous state. (Wiki)

Hi Asa,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The trees are framing well the cathedral. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the architectire of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral. The nice blue sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. have a nice day.

Hello Asa,
Good details in the architecture!
The crows shows the popularity of the church as an attraction, and the view to the cathedral is well framed by the silhouetted leaves...
The strong blue sky makes a fine background for the House of Worship!

Hi Asa,
very pretty classic shot.
I am jealous about the sun and colors. When I was in Paris last year the weather was terrible. Plenty of rain and heavy clouds.
Nice POV,

Hello Asa,
A very good capture of this famous Parisian landmark. The tourists contribute much to the mood. Colours and sharpness are both very good. I would have perhaps cropped some of the foreground area.

Classic view of Notre Dame's twin bell towers. The crowds serve to remind us of the huge size of the cathedral. The bonus shots in the WS are very welcome.
Maybe a crop from the bottom?

Hello Asa,
This is a simple but elegant composition for presenting the great Cathedral. I have not been there for many years, but this precise angle I know so very well. In my book, Math and the Mona Lisa, I had to present a straight on view of the façade, in order to show the frequent occurrence of the Fibonacci series and the golden ratio imbued in the structure, but I would have preferred an edge-on composition like this. In the spirit of constructive criticism, however, I believe, I might have cropped it in a square 'carper' frame, in order to minimize the very bright ground, and balanced that by minimizing the blue sky. However, it is a classic as it stands.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Asa, this is a good shot and I had to think long and hard about it before writing. First I thought the keystoning was an issue but decided it is better with it as it give the feeling of largeness and power. Then the more common view is from the back and the other bank of the Seine I think but this one shows the facade better. Anyway I really like this and you have done a fine job with this photograph I think.
