Photographer’s Note

I thought this shot from my Brazil montage, used as the set for the film at Noisy le Grand just outside Paris, worth posting as a single shot. Partly because I think this is the one that catches the mood of the place best, and partly because it is almost exactly the shot from the film where Jonathan Price emarges from the building just as ... (but I won't spoil it for you if you've not seen it).

Tech: Converted to B&W and slightly increased contrast.

It's hard to see igf it's one long curved building or several buildings, b\ut from this angle it doesn't matter. I like the way you delivered the feeling of claustrophoby of this place. Nice shot, Richard.

Seems you are developing mastership in B&W photography, Richard, thus I have to admitt with a very good result!
The composition here brings some graphical feeling, and the angle of taking allowed you to create a nice diversity to the details, so the picture is not looking busy. I like the way you included all elements. Very well seen and captured!

The very balanced composition works well to display the architechture. The sky leaves some great negative space to your shot, especially the ondulating roofline. Nicely done.

Such an impressive gateway
i like the softness and the symmetry captured, from this perspective, the architecture looks impressive, much better than actual :)
