Church Saint-Etienne de Fromonville * (IMH): arched nave of modern warheads and chorus of 2 arched spans of rectangular edges 12th, vault seigneuriale 1538, massive bell-tower with the roof in house; tomb stones 16th. High modern cross, in front of the church.

Tu arrives, je repars pour m'adonner à une série de portraits dans une exposition artisanale :))) (C'est un art ou je n'excelle pas mais il faut bien en passer par là pour devenir un bon photographe :)))
Belle église ma foi, bien clair et cadré avec ce petit cimetière reposant et sympathique.
Je vois le fossoyeur qui ferait aussi un bon sujet...
Merci pour l'histoire et la datation des différents strates. PEDAGOGIQUE :))

Bonjour Philippe, Très belle église au passé plus mouvementé que son présent apparemment. Il est de plus en plus rare de trouver des cimetières autour des églises. Vous nous en montrez ici un bel exemple.

nice archi shot accompanied by a good explanatory note; what makes this pic vivid is that tiny person (probably jenitor);
And here it is, how the "Berberland" looks like.
"It's set in a landscape of low, yellowing hills scored by eep gullies, as if it had just dried out after a mighty flood. In fact, it has not rained here for three years, and the land is bone dry. There are the usual hardy bushes, a few palms, their lower fronds discoloured by drought, and on the side of a hill an old man is watering a single young olive tree, which won't give fruit in his lifetime."

Good morning Philippe. A nice comprehensive framing for this photo of the old village church. The texture of the old stone architecture is well rendered, and the composition that includes the graveyard in the foreground is well made. Good detail to have the working person included. Nice one.

Comme quoi même dans la région parisienne, on peut vivre en toute tranquilité et Dormelles ( avec 2 ou 3 L ?;oD )en montre très bien l'exemple. L'église est tres bien cadrée avec ce cimetière en premier plan. J'aime la lumière meme si le soleil a boudé l'église. Compliments

Hi Philippe,
This has small difference with your previous postings. This is the first time I see a human being in one of your church pictures since my joining to the community. May be there was before but I did not have the chance to look at your whole images here...:))
Anyway, this is, as usual, a very good capture of a church. Foreground also a little crowded in this one but there is nothing bothering instead the tombs add more meaning.

Le point de vue permet de metter en évidence la forme si typique de nos églises.
Les couleurs de la mousse sur le clocher ressortent bien. Agréable composition classique. Petite remarque, je trouve l'avant-plan surtout côté droit assez encombré, mais bon... Beau cliché Philippe !

Le semi contre-jour et l'heure de prise de vue n'empêchent pas d'apprécier les détails des pierres.

I really like the simpleness of this church, it makes it look even older. I think the composition had been better had you included a little more of the foreground, now I think there's some tension in the picture (excuse the vagueness).

A picture with straight lines and a nice foreground, always good to have a grave-yard in the front. Not full of crispy colours but a nice mood gives this photo.
