Masque grotesque : sculpture réalisée à même la pierre ; elle représentait la paysannerie française au moyen-âge selon l'église. Ces masques sont visibles au niveau des églises et des chapelles.

J'aime bien l'anti-symétrie sur le visage : la moitié éclairée, l'aure pas. l'effet est-il voulu? Belle composition.

Nice seen opportunity. Check out my workshop version for a tighter crop. Alternatively, you can remove the colors for a better balance. ( no more blue skies)

I love the effect of the light on the stone ! You really enhanced the beauty of this face. The light is quite harsh here too but the stone of irregular enough to display some interesting effects. The face looks as tourmented as the stone. Is it the weight of the centuries, of the sun, of the rain ?

Really good picture from a decor element people usually do not see ! You have a sharp eye Philippe !

BEautiful and interesting mask in the wall I like this king of sculpture remindsme to the gargols in the medieval churchs. I like the game between the ligth and shadow and thsi is just in the middle of his face.

Bonjour Philippe,

La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails de ce masque sculpter à même la pierre. L'arche de la porte ou fenêtre met dans l'ombre la moitié de ce visage. Le sujet est bien cadré. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs d'une partie de l'image. Bonne journée
