A view of the north transept and flamboyant style spire on the western façade can be seen, the rose window measures more than ten meters in diameter and is dating back to 1235. Beneath the rose window, there are five tall lancet windows.
Two stubs of the transept towers are also visible.

This time a symphony in pale gold and blue. How nice of the leaves to be just the color of the gilded ornament of the gate! I like the way you use the repoussé element of the dark stone in the foreground to balance the dark gate and windows...

The giant rose window at the Chartres Cathedral is one of the most famous in the world, an painted by Monet in several separate paintings. You've chosen an especially good vantage point here to show the impressive edifice with its many salient qualities. Incidentally, years ago I remember reading in Scientific American about the viscosity of glass (technically it is a fluid). What they discovered at the Chartres stained glass was that it flows roughly 2.5 cm/century. Thus after almost 1000 years, the colors and glass itself is thicker at the bottom of a panel, than it is at the top.

Salut cher Nobu
I see you have climbed down from your perch in the previous photos to get this most interesting POV of the northern facade. The view through the gates is very Nobuesque and adds to creatively to the scene. I also like how you have dealt with the extremes of light and shade here, creating a photo which is all about perspective and one which I could look at and enjoy for hours.
I hope you are keeping well and did something nice for Father's Day :) If you look at Facebook at all, you can see what I cooked for my Dad :)

bello questo POV con l'incrocio della cancellata lavorata e del ricamo della facciata.
Luce perfettamente trattata e colori naturali,

So far amongst all the pictures you've posted from Chartres, I like this post the best. Why? I don't know, but I'll try to analyse! For sure its the most visually appealing. I think its the low POV you have here which enhances the majestic appeal of this marvellous monument..soaring towers against the sky. The gates are open, only just as if welcoming us in. Framing is well done as well! Fine work!
Best Regards Nobu-san

I like this pov to show the details of the facade. Somehow, it must be an original one and it works. I like the idea of including part of the gate and the tree.

what a beautiful view - an excellent perspective shot, the towers are reaching for the infinite sky, and the clouds in the sky add more dynamism to this scene :)
I like your choice of POV! it creates a very good balance of the composition.
Nice natural colours and lighting :)

Hello dear Nobu,
I have never been to Paris but I am learning a lot through your informative text and images. I see lots of interesting elements here. First thing that caught my eye was the rose window. It is geometrically designed . I see the circle enclosed in a square and how the 12 points are connected forming a nice design. The arch shaped lancet windows sit beautifully under the rose window. The spire on the right tower is shown very well.Beautiful metal gate with art work forms a nice frame in the foreground. Looks like , the cathedral is maintained well.I like the soft colors , lighting and clarity.
With warm regards,
