Église Saint-Martin Photo

Photographer’s Note

Church Saint-Martin (registered on the inventory of Ancient memorials) of the 12th century, it represents the characteristics of the churches of Gâtinais: nef panelled, more narrow choir with arched arcature, semicircular apse, collateral south reshaped of the 15th century.
Situated in the southwest extremity of the department, in the district of Fontainebleau and the canton of Château-Landon, or near the historic centre of Gâtinais. Aufferville is a small village of 450 inhabitants.
As most of the small churches of campaign, it are opened only to certain occasions today, because of the occasional presence of a priest henceforth in charge of former(old) numerous parishes (while every village had another priest permanently in the first half of the XXth century).
The separation of the Church and the State in 1905 transferred to the municipality the property of the church and the presbytery.

Bonjour Philippe,
Elle ne risque pas de s'écrouler cette abside avec de tels contreforts... Je note de petites ouvertures, aux formes arrondies, des murs épais... une église romane ! Je posterai peut-être une photo de chapelle dans mon carnet de voyage. Les petites églises des Pyrénées sont de vrais merveilles.

Wow, this church has a nice style. It looks so very simple, old and beautiful. I like the structure of the stones. The sky is a bit pale here, but it is a nice soft colour.

L'ensemble est très homogène, et bien entretenu, sauf que la commune n'aurait pas du mettre la plaque de la rue sur le contrefort..;
belles couleurs et rugosité de la pierre.
L'église a beaucoup de charme.

Bonjour Philippe,
On retrouve bien les caractèristiques architecturales du 12ème sciècle. Beaucoup de sobriété, une pierre devenue grise (?) au cours du temps..
La prise de vue est excellente malgré un ciel plutôt gris.
Avec sa conception et ses larges contreforts, elle me rappelle tout à fait l'église Notre Dame de Rochefort en Yvelynes ,érigée vers la même époque.

une vue assez impressionnante de cette edifice, sous cet angle cette eglise me fait penser au couvent forteresse de Tomar (portugal) qu j'ai publie il y a qq temps. on regrette juste un petit ciel bleu et un peu d'arbres pour agrementer le tout.
Un bon cadrage et une belle composition.

D'abord le nom de cette église m'est familié ... et bravo pour la présentation, une lumière douce qui fait bien ressortir les détails et parfait l'exposition car avec ce ciel très lumineux le contraste aurait pu être trop marqué.

Very interesting church. It seems so out of place right there. The church is so heavy but everything around it seems so spacious and airy. I could imagine this in a much more dense setting than this. I really like that contrast between that heaviness and everything around it. It looks like an attractive old building, very solid and stoic. And I imagine the interior would be equally as impressive. And great textures again, Philippe.

Une belle image de l'église saint-Martin, la prise de vue permet de voir beaucoup de détails. La photo a une bonne composition, profondeur de champs et de jolies couleurs. Bonne journée.
