Etretat : La mer à Etretat a un aspect particulier : elle s'orne de ses plus belles couleurs pour passer sous les portes qui font la réputation de la station. La plage est encadrée par les Portes d'Amont et d'Aval ; cette dernière protège le Trou à l'Homme, grotte dont les dimensions surprennent. Courbet, Boudin, Monet, Corot, Matisse peindront, Offenbach composera à Etretat. Maupassant y fera construire "La Guillette", Maurice Leblanc (Arsène Lupin) "Le Clos Lupin". Dans l'aiguille creuse, Arsène Lupin aurait caché ses trésors. Alphonse Karr dira en substance que "s'il avait la mer à montrer à quelqu'un, c'est à Etretat qu'il la lui ferait découvrir".,
