Photographer’s Note

Avremesnil:
est une commune française, située dans le département de la Seine-Maritime et la région Haute-Normandie. Commune du pays de Caux située dans le canton de Bacqueville-en-Caux.

Comme beaucoup de villes de Normandie, elle honore aux moyen de monuments et des stelles, les victimes des deux guerres mondiales.

Très jolie petite ville en pleine campagne côtière, à seuelement une dizaine de kilomètre de la côte.
Si vous comptez vous y rendre, je vous conseille de loger au gîte "Le Marronnier Rouge", où un accueil formidable est réservé aux visiteurs, dans un cadre magnifique.

hello,

mangifique cliché, très bien vu la stelle à côté de l'église, belle recherche de cadrage et il y a un effet de fuite vers le ciel superbe.

Hello Daniel,
Nice shot with thie church and this stone monument in honour of those who lost their lifes on the 1st and 2nd WW, making a nice foreground and following well the vertical format of the church tower.
Great details, light and colours, although I think the top right corner is a bit too dark but this is a polarizer's problem.

I like the composition here with a good juxtaposition between church and war memorial. Excellent tones in the stonework that also benefit from the saturated blue sky. Fine clarity.

I like this photo, but i thinks the compostion is a bit too crowded. I like the blue sky. The photo is very sharped and detailed.

Un point de vue bien choisi pour rendre honneur aux combatants de la dernière guerre ! La profondeur de champ permet d'avoir une très bonne netteté sur l'ensemble de l'image et notamment sur la stèle et les noms ! Le ciel est excellent avec ce dégradé !

Bonjour, Daniel. Ce monument aux morts semble presque aussi haut que la tour de l'église. Cette illusion d'optique est bien sûr due à ton cadrage que je trouve très bon. L'église et la stèle se détachent très bien sur le ciel bleu et la porte de l'églsie apporte un contraste intéressant.

An excellent architectural photo. I can't read French (Alta Vista's Babel Fish is not a very good translator) but I realize from the inscriptions that brave men who fought in WWI and WWII were honored by this monument. Well done!

Hi Daniel. This POV really reminds me of one I took at the National Cathedral and never posted. I love the inclusion of the text on the tower and it's even better that it's so clear. Lastly the sky you got via the polarizer is awesome. Great shot Daniel!

Great shot! I like the low angle with the wide angle lens, which gives us a close up detail of the monument, while at the same time showing us the full size and the tower of the church. Great colour too. Beautiful!

Un cadrage très intéressant qui offre une vue détaillée de cette stelle.
La lumière est très agréable et offre un beau rendu sur les pierres de l'édifice.
J'ai vu quelque tache ds le ciel... espéron qu'elle ne sont pas sur ton capteur mais sur l'objectif.
Belle prise de vue.

Très jolie église bien cadrée avec ce momument.La vue en contre plongée le rend plus imposant et la netteté de la prise de vue permet de lire toutes les inscriptions.

Hi Daniel,

The Church and the monument are a thoughtful combination into the blue sky .. I am struck by the way the church comes to a point and many of its rounded lines .. as opposed to the flat topped monument .. it almost feels compressed in a way .. thoughtful image.

Le polarisant est à l'honneur ici !
On comprend tout l'intérêt d'assombrir le ciel, et aussi probablement d'éliminer de la brillance sur les deux constructions.
Belle compo, en tout cas, avec une perspective fort bien restituée.

Bonsoir Daniel,

On voit que le polarisant à fait son travail ici. Un joli travail de cadrage qui réuni ces deux architectures indissociables l'une de l'autre. Belle gestion de la lumière et des couleurs... attention à la tête d'obus, peut-être pas désamorcé !!!
