Photographer’s Note

Here the bird was just released from the fabric bag where it was contained, after its capture in the net. He is trying to escape of course, but the fingers of the birdwatcher are firmly but gently wrapped around the legs. This bird is Eurasian Reed-Warbler (Rousserolle effarvatte -Acrocephalus scirpaceus). This activity of ringing small birds is very intense, it has to ne made each hour while the net are on site, in order to avoid any deshydratation for these birds that are small. Here the campground was intalled during 3 weeks and 45 people were present altogether. Some birds have to be caught at dusk and released the day after very early. This activity is actually more physical then what it looks like.
