Photographer’s Note

Everytime we came to the fence that seperated the yard where our tent was set up and the field where some cows were grazing they came running towards us and realy seemed ful of joy.

Hi Gerrit,

I had a good laugh when I opened this one. They don't look so menacing, but it's a bit hard to me to keep calm in front of such big animals, at least until I "get acquainted" with them, like you seem to have gotten. It's funny that they look more like running away from something that is chasing them. I guess they felt too lonely, the poor ladies. :D

Besides the funny aspect, I like the POV/framing and the precise light management.

It reminds me a camping trip I made with some friends many years ago where our only companions in many Kms were a herd of young cows. Most of them were brown, who knows if they weren't ancestors of these, but there was one black and white that follow one of us everywhere. We joked that the cow was in love with him and it looked like she was corresponded. :D

I like this bucolic scene where one guesses cows which laugh, and satisfied to feed in peace and to communicate with the human ungrateful ones, fortunately, they are unaware of the fate which is reserved to them. The light is excellent, as the very pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful and good work.

I smile when I read your title with the photo, and want to ask how would you tell whent he cows are happy? Either you must be a good cowboy or they can speak to you :)) just kidding!

I suppose the sunshine and plenty of grass is good enough to make them happy. They look well fed!

So you pitched a tent and slept here in the field? Wow! That is a great camping!

I remembered the black bear coming to our tent at campground of Yellowstone National Park one night, but lucky we were not hurt.

Vaches en liberté, amies de l'homme ! eh oui, c'est très vrai, chaque fois que je vois des vaches dans un herbage, elles ont tendance à s'approcher de nous (heure de la traite ?)
L'on dirait des vaches de race : Simmental Française ?
