Mathaux Aube department - Population 191 inhabitants - Altitude 133 meters - Paris 214 km.

Aube area has a single inheritance in Europe of churches with half-timberings. Certain churches of this area are built in wood sides.
The church St Quentin de Mathaux dates from the 18th century; The wood sides were roughcast in a traditional way by an argillaceous cob interfered hairs of cow.
The bell-tower square, is covered with wood scales is surmounted by a skylight. Classified Historic building in 1982.
This church is now unfortunately closed having undergone several degradations. It is possible to visit it with an authorization of the mayor of the village.
