Photographer’s Note
Training sheepdogs to become efficient companions for shepherds gives you sometimes opportunities to catch interresting attitudes amongst the flock. Here, my young Border Collie is laying still on my right, staring at the flock who is under control and will not move as long as the dog remains laying. A BC works by the eye, and kind of hypnotizes the sheep. All 10 are expressing that on this shot, looking over or under the other sheep to observe the dog. A good Border Collie should be able to gather and conduct sheep, just turning around, stopping and staring at them, and so on up to point where the shepherds wants the flock to go. Biting is forbidden. It takes around three years to make a good sheepdog, and a lot of training sessions, of course. When training is completed, work and/or competition is possible. For those who are doing it, it's a fantastic passion.

Nice shot and interesting note to understand why these sheeps are standing still like statues. Really amazing how this dog hypnotizes he sheeps. Would have been nice to see the dog too to really see the eye to eye contact.

I love their attitude and the way they stand. It's funny and interesting as well to see their reaction.
