Now That I'm a bit further with learning Photoshop Elements, I could rotate & sharpen the originel image - I kept the original colours.

Le Viaduc de Chaumont:

From Web - Chaumont:
Le Viaduc est du type pont en arc, multiples traveés, il franchit la rivière Suize, et sert de pont-rail (Ligne Paris-Bâle).
Dimensions: 600 m de long, 50 arches sur une hauteur de 52 m.
L' architecte est Emile Decombe, l'ouvrage fut commencé en 1855 et conduit en un temps record : 15 mois suffisent pour mettre en œuvre 60 000 m³ de maçonnerie, grâce à 2500 ouvriers et 300 chevaux qui travaillent nuit et jour .

Son imposante majesté en fait la figure emblématique de la ville de Chaumont.

From Web - Chaumont:The type of the Viaduc is an arch bridge, with multiple spans, crossing the river Suize, and is used as a railroad bridge.
Mesures: 600m legth, 50 arches, 52m height.
The architect is Emile Decombe, the work began in 1855 and it took only 15 months to achieve 60 000 m³ of brick-work and masonry, with 2500 men and 300 horses working day and night on the site.

The viaduc is a very significative building of the city of Chaumont, Haute-Marne.

Hello Viviane !

Je me souviens de votre photo de ce viaduc et je m'étais amusé à compter le nombre de portes que la profondeur de champ me permettait de voir.
Votre retouche permet de corriger quelques détails mais la photo reste une merveille techniquement et artistiquement. La perspective est fabuleuse, le point de vue transporte les lecteurs que nous sommes sur le lieu même de la prise de vue et la lumière ambiante apporte de beaux reliefs aux pierres de chaque travée ainsi que les projections d'ombres de la rambarde sur le chemin central. Ces ombres deviennent l'élément artistique perturbant la parfaite symétrie.

C'est toujours le même plaisir de revoir cette superbe photo.

Magnifique prise, la perspective est impécable...très bonne profondeur.
J'adore ce genre de pont et là la compo est très bien faite.
Une forte lumière accompagnée de jeux d'ombres et une très bonne netteté.

Je n'avais pas vu le version precedente, je decouvre maintenant les deux en meme temps et effectivement cette perspective est fantastique, quelle profondeur !
Ca me fait aussi penser que je suis passe un nombre imcalculable de fois sur ce viaduc, car c'est ma ligne pour "monter a Paris" !

An amazing shot, I always wonder why I love pattern and elements photos, and yes this is one of my favorite, You did it great with deep DOF, charming yellow color tone and perfect center composition. GREAT.

I wrote a long and very lyric critique to your original, Viviane, of this spectacular view of Le Viaduc de Chaumont. And now I have to turn it up notch. Not only "the perspective is great - the symmetric recurrence of vaults is fascinating - the light in an angle of almost 90 degrees from the left, showing the structure and creating pure shadows is superb and everything is very 'clean'...", but the colors (and rotation/sharpening) add another repetitive pattern not visible in the B&W version. And an overall warmth to the image. Very well done!

I always thought it was called Viaduc du Chaumont - but you're the French... ;o)

Hi Viviane, No time to comment on this before, you know, busy with the war on my hands ;-)
I think this is an absolute stunner and I really would like to see this viaduct in real life once. There’s so much depth in the picture, the repetition on the white numbers on the highest point of the arch is so nice and really draws you into the picture. Lovely colors, very warm, you ticked b&W, btw, or is that because it’s a repost of a b&w?

les ombres qui forment les arcs eux-mêmes sont définitif pour une grande image.

The deep perspective is really amazing,the repitition of the arches add a very fine texture to the picture and the central composition was a must here.

Bravo pour cette photo faite de droites, de courbes, d'ombres en symétrie. Je préfère nettement cette version à la première. Je trouve qu'elle renforce l'impression de symétrie. Bon travail avec Photoshop Elements! Je l'aime bien en couleurs aussi. C'est vraiment impressionnant ce viaduc. Et cette photo rend bien cette impression d'infini. Bravo! En passant, je découvre votre gallerie. Que du bonbon! Merci! C'est inspirant pour la novice que je suis.

The symetry it very good here, with the archways receding into the distance. I think that the top is cropped too much, but other than that, i like it a lot.

Une belle leçon de perspective. On se perd à rejoindre le point de fuite. Toutes les arches sont parfaitement rendues et l'effet est saisissant. J'aime ce genre de photo qui témoigne de l'acuité de l'oeil du photographe qui voit ce que beaucoup ont ignoré.

bonjour et merci pour le lien depuis cette photo, je découvre un endroit fascinant vu sous cet angle, la lumière, la profondeur, la qualité des textures, c'est beau, et c'est mieux, je pense, en couleur

Une vue originale de ce pont impressionnant. On a l'impression que les architectes ont utilisé l'ancètre du " copier- coller". Mais cette succession d'arches est vraiment très belle.
