Est-il encore utile de vous présenter le Mont Saint-Michel ?Mais que faire comme photos au Mont Saint-Michel quand la lumière est moche comme tout, et qu’on n’a pas la patience d’attendre l’heure bleue ou l’heure noire ? Il ne reste plus qu’à trafiquer la photo obtenue en jouant sur les niveaux .Je ne suis pas certaine du résultat, moi , j’aime bien, mais….vraiment pas sûre…

Is it still useful to present you the Mont-Saint-Michel? But what make as photos at the Mount Saint-Michel when the light is really ugly, and when we don’t have the patience to wait for blue or black hour? It only remains to tamper with the picture obtained by adjusting the levels. I'm not sure of the result, I like, but ....not really sure...

Le résultat est surprenant et artistique à la fois. Un bon jeu d'ombre et de lumière sur la plage. J'ai cru que c'était du noir et blanc.

A near monochromatic scene, and I'm glad that you've resisted the temptation to over-saturate the colours, as so many on TE seem to find necessary! The placement of the island is classic "rule of thirds, and the inclusion of a lot of foreground is very effective, especially as it's so contrasty. I like this a lot!

et bien moi j'aime bien ton jeu avec les niveaux (va falloir que j'essaie car c'est un outil que j'ai du mal à utiliser!!)
ça fait une photo tres originale malgré un sujet 'banal"!!

Hello Pascale,

Such a dramatic and unusual photo of the iconic mountain/fortress/church. For one, I like the results. Can you imagine how pleased the medieval architects and builders must have felt when they first completed it. Initially, I thought there spots on my computer screen, then I realized it was a flock of birds flying at roughly the same height.

Bonjour Pascale,
Comme Jean-Jacques, jjcordier, tu nous présentes aujourd'hui le Mont Saint-Michel, avec nettement moins de lumière ;) Le résultat de tes manipulations savantes des réglages est plutôt intéressant, même si l'image reste sombre, mais pas sinistre :) C'est un travail créatif de recherche artistique. Bravo.

Within last two days this is the second entry of StMichel.
Here you've managed a different ligth and technique; hence the graphism of the entry is quite different and eyecatching. It's color but has the taste of a monochrome work !

Le ciel plutôt menaçant et les mares d'eau résiduelle à marée basse en FG créent une ambiance "l'Ile noire"
Impressionnant de réalisme hivernal

hi pascale,
this image is very appealing to the viewer instantly, even in the smaller thumbnail picture. i love the layers of light reflected on the water in the foreground. the castle is pplaced perfectly in the frame and is a superb focal point. excellent composition.

This French locale is legendary & this is a superb capture, relying more on its superb graphism & sharpness, rather than color. I like the impressionist reflections in the tidal pools between sand bars. Tfs et bon semaine!

Lumière moche que tu dis, ceci ne t'as pas empêché de donner un aspect intéressant au paysage avec ce contraste particulier..

Pascal, an interesting way of presenting Mont with the play of silhouettes and lights. Love the stripes that the water and earth create! The tones are very attractive and very interesting. The scenery is just splendid as it is! perfectly composed! Great capture on this one!

J'aime bien l'effet que tu lui as donné pour obtenir une vue inhabituelle de ce monument ultra connu. L'atmosphère semble lugubre, et pourrait être digne d'un roman policier.

pas ce que j'aime habituellement mais la silhouette et ce graphisme en deux teintes du premier plan rendent le tout très agréable à regarder. Les oiseaux s'envolant sur le côté droit apportent aussi beaucoup à l'ambiance. Ambiance un peu gothique comme dans Sleepy Hollow de Tim Burton.
