Photographer's Note

A group of hungry tourists take time out of their busy schedule for an impromptu snack outside a bakers in Port-en-Bessin.

Port-en-Bassin merged with the neighboring commune of Huppain in 1972 to form the commune of Port-en-Bessin-Huppain. With a population of 2141 (2009), it lies nine kilometres north of the town of Bayeux in the département of Calvados.

A good capture to show daily life going on in the town. I like that you have included the facade of the bakers in the composition as well as the tourists enjoying their snack. It gives a real feeling of context to the composition.

Hi Steven,
A very attractive colourful, sharp image with lots of detail for one's eyes to explore. I was intrigued by the lack of any obvious shadows of the people even though their clothing shows good contrast of light and shade which emphasises the detail.

Oh, we've all done this!
Grabbed a quick bite of newly baked food to keep us going during sight-seeing tours! No time to waste!

A good pov allows us to be guided to the bakers by the approaching group and they are very well positioned in the frame. You have some fine details despite the relatively poor light. (Where have I heard that before!)

I hope the tourists clear up their litter! What struck me immediately were the bold red and blue colours if the two facades. The people add some life and interest to the shot. Good observation that has made a successful image.
