Morning sheeps, a photo from Basse-Normandie, North

Photographer's Note

Sheeps went out of their enclosure before tourists' flow invades the Mont-Saint-Michel, just the time for them to waste this good salty grass which is going to give their inimitable taste.
I had already posted a wider version of this moment.

Les moutons sont sortis de leur enclos avant que le flux de touristes n'envahisse le Mont Saint-Michel, juste le temps pour eux de dévorer cette bonne herbe salée qui va donner leur goût inimitable.
J'avais déjà posté une version plus large de ce moment.

Hello Jean-Jacques, This image has a romantic feel about it. The Mont has a fairy-tale feel in any event but with the sheep grazing in the FG there is an additional rural bucolic feel. The sky is a watercolour wash and a perfect backdrop for the Mont. The sun has bathed the sheep with an attractive side light. Very lovely composition. Have a great Sunday Rosemary

Si je comprends bien tu nous offre le Mont avec les moutons de Denis et nous avons gigot de pré salé au menu dominical.
Une compo classique mais qui fait toujours son effet.
J'aime bien tes moutons..on..on.

Very nice to see a different perspective of this much photographed MSM landmark, without the usual tidal pools & sandbanks. Nice repetition of the sheep with good sharpness & lighting contrasts. The warm cold color contrast between the yellow green grass & blue grey sky is superb. Bon Dimanche!

Bonsoir Jean-Jacques,

J'aime bien cette vue du Mont Saint-Michel, avec un avant-plan verdoyant occupé par les moutons ! Sous un ciel couvert, le contraste est excellent entre le Mont Saint-Michel, dans l'ombre, et les prés inondés de soleil.

out of all the photos of this Iconic subject, i enjoy these the most. One's with a secondary subject in the fg, it must completes the entire scene better.
much more attractive than just the Castle itself.

Seems the sheep are the stars here! - they have the sun light, not Mont-Saint-Michel:)! I like it a lot! They are a great foreground and make the photo different! Very good composition and colours!

This is simply superb! Tons of pictures from MsM to see in TE, but this would stand out from all those. Extraordinary 'interface' between the sheep & the famous Mont...the sheep are basking in nice light, while a thin mist shrouds the Mont....Superb!

I have seen the post card of Mt. Saint-Michel since I was just a child in Laos, I wish to have a chance to see it, but have not yet fulfill this dream. For now I'll enjoy this beautiful photo. Teh sheep in the foreground make a lovely addition to the already beautiful place. Thanks.

Seems like it's not entirely sharp, and is it slightly tilted? But anyway, that's pretty much the only bad thing to say about this picture. The place is just terrific, and the sheep fit great into it. It's a superb picture!

Il y a autant de moutons dans le ciel que dans le pré...

Excellente présentation du Mont Saint-Michel sous une lumière filtrée, avec plusieurs niveaux qui apportent de la profondeur. Composition attrayante et ambiance pastorale.

Un endroit qui charme sous tous les angles et que tu as su exploité efficacement.
