Photographer’s Note
In "La Hague", in the extreme North-West of Cotentin, Normandy, just in the south of the Cape, the bay of Ecalgrain is a vast beach surrounded of cliffs, facing the dreaded curent "Raz Blanchard".
The word Raz comes from a viking word (The Vikings built Normandy) which means curent. "Blanchard" comes owing to the fact that at this place, because of the currents, the surface of the sea is always bleached by scum, even by good weather.

chouette panorama aux teintes de vieux techicolor. Cadrage impeccable !
J'ai passé le raz Blanchard deux fois, une de nuit avec et une au crépuscule, avec le courant portant. Une autre fois, nous sommes restés face à la pointe et Aurigny au passage de l'eclipse.
