Is this ART?
Well I am unsure what this is, I was returning to the ferry after a day trip to Cherbourg, France and found this structure in a marine engineering yard close to the terminal, its size is enormous and is made from aluminum. The picture does not do it justice thou, the interaction of all the curves must have made it an an engineering nightmare to make.
From its size it was difficult to take the shot without having the fence in so have left it as seen

Interesting shot! Consider rotating it about 2 degrees CCW, since the verticals are clearly off at the moment. I'd also think about sharpening it a little to bring out some more detail. I might also crop half the fence off the bottom of the scene... Well spotted :-)

Well, I've looked at both images, the original and the workshop, and they both work for me in this case, but they become two types of shot, the WS image corrects the tilt of the original and gives it better composition, but takes it out of its environment and becomes a photograph of a bizarre piece of modern art. Whereas the original keeps the context, i.e a piece of art in its last stage of construction just waiting to be moved to its permanent site, as I say, both work!

hhhhhhmmmmmmmmm, interesting, but is it art? Someone's conceeption of art, someone was paid for it even...... I picture in the fountain of a sky scraper....

Roland, this spiral oddity must be put on the deck of a giant cruising ferry. Like you, i'll try succeed in shooting it with the best angle. The only solution is to go on the other side of the fence ;-)
