Photographer’s Note
The last pictures of this travelogue: here, a view of the main mast, after our arrival in Cherbourg harbour. The entrance was marked by a small accident. When entering the narrower part of the entrance, we had to close on the port side due to the exit of a fishing boat at the same time, and one of the braces of the main mast got caught in a street lamp on the side. The street lamp was stronger than the rope, and you see here hanging the broken brace. I also post in workshop a view of the metal bar which serves as a return for the braces, which was pushed along the side by ythe tension. And a final view of one of my fellow trainees disembarking. This is the end of the travelogue...
