Photographer’s Note

On the French three-masted bark Belem "en route" from Amsterdam to Cherbourg, after Sail 1990. A medium weather, nothing to see around, just trying to catch the waves moving around the ship in a perpetual movement...
Another one in workshop, plus the cook feeding the fishes with the rest of our dinner.

C'est une image assez inhabituelle de la mer que tu nous propose. C'est cette eruption de l'eau qui donne vie à ce cliché, Bravo

WOW,this looks so dramatic.Your first image since a long time without a sailingship,and what a great one.
You capture the dynamism of this wave very well,the deep blue of the sea is fantastic and I like the contrast with this also dynamic sky.

Bonjour Emmanuel, la mer doit paraître encore plus immense pour le bateau et sont équipage qui ne serai pas rentré au port à temps, car devant autant de fougue marine, et aussi loin que l’on puisse regarder, il n’y à que des vagues peu rassurantes que dis-je ce sont des déferlantes qui se fracasse qui éclate et donne un beau dynamisme à cette image, j’exagère beaucoup devant la beauté de ce clicher en essayant de m‘imaginer ce que l‘on peu ressentir face à une véritable tempête, mais quand même perdu au milieu de nul part ce spectacle rend fort bien à l’image ainsi que le ciel que tu as bien attrapé lui aussi, évidemment avec les bateaux modernes cette vague rendue énorme par ton cadrage approprié et figé au moment idéal ou la vague est au sommet de sa course à un bon rendu, bien amicalement

excellent capture of the wave. You froze its movement without loosing the dynamic. Dramatic impression very well supported by the sky.

Hormis l'horizon coupé en deux, l'instant décisif de cette éruption a été bien capté.
J'avant-plan donne un bon relief liquide et je note une très bonne luminosité ambiante.

You have captured here a great moment, in a very attractive way, with visual strenth, and the light shown, also it is an important element that gives strenth to the image, and movement.

Superbe vague, prise au beau moment, pour avoir cette caresse de soleil. C'est une peu comme une scupture éphémère.
Dommage que le ciel en arrière plan soit un peu plat.

A great capture of the two elements sea and sky!
It is a difficult exposure, but I think both come out well with good details...
The ocean comes out very well with wonderful colours and details!

Wow! What a tremendous photograph! The power of these waves, the small ray of sunshine lighting the top of the whitecaps, and the storm clouds in the distance. Seascapes don't get any more dramatic than this image. You could go out to sea 500 times and not be able to reproduce this scene. This shot is awesome! (I am not exaggerating). Yours is one of the most dramatic photos that I have seen since starting on TE two months ago. Your seasickness paid off to get this photograph.
