Homeward bound Photo

Photographer’s Note

Still a nice sun, but not a very quiet sea, although it is less noticeable here, apart for the white crests of the waves. We are bound to reach Cherbourg (France) in two days. This view taken from the fore deck gives probably to much emphasis to the cabstan, but I believe I was still afraid of the treacherous wave after my experience of yesterday, which drenched my jeans but fortunatly not the camera: as you can see, there are still wet places on the (otherwise) dry deck. In workshop, two views of one mast taken from bottom to top.

Hi Emmanuel, I love these forward shots, you are managing great light & colour, with the sea a beautiful blue & green mix, the focus is very good & I think the composition with all the lines going in different directions looks superb, it's another wonderful photo & TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hello Emmanuel,
Wow! I love this image. The sunlight is strong enough to show the shapes and details of the ship but diffuse enough not to wash out the highlights. The clouds and the whitecaps on the waves are marvelous. I really admire your strong work ethic in really giving your assignment "the works" and not just fooling around with just a few snapshots like a less experienced photographer would have. Your excellent series was a result of talent, skill and hard work and persistence. Well done!
