Photographer's Note

This is my 100th post on TE. Not an easy one.
I wanted some Jellyfish to celebrate this and to share the interesting experience of visiting the "Cité de la Mer" in Cherbourg. These jellyfish are swimming in a cylindrical plexiglass aquarium under UV lighting... the effect is incredible, but shooting permanently moving objects under low lighting conditions is a nightmare.
Luckily I could make use of some of the features of my brand new reflex camera (switching off the autofocus and boosting the ISO sensibility to 800 in particular)... I probably would have benefited from switching off the anti-shaking device and using a tripod... but I had none with me.
The Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg is devoted to the history of deep sea exploration. It is extremely well documented on the development of deep diving technologies from early bathyscaphs to the ultimate nuclear fueled submarines... you can even visit the first french atomic submarine called "Le Redoutable".
I hope you'll appreciate this TN-like picture. I look forward to posting more pictures from my Pentax K100D.
