Photographer's Note

Beuvron-en-Auge is a village and commune in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region in northwestern France.

It has been awarded the label of one of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' ('The most beautiful villages of France'), by an independent association whose aim is to promote tourism among a select number of small and picturesque French communes with quality built heritage.

The village boasts a significant number of half-timbered properties built in typical Normandy style that date from the 17th and 18th centuries. The parish church of Saint-Martin originated in the 18th century. There is much to photograph though I hope you experience better weather than I did on my visit!

well, bad weather or not, you still came out with a pretty good photo that clearly describes and highlights the village well.
those houses and storefronts are extremely charming and elegant in their own ways.
there's no symmetry at all in the construction, all varying in heights and widths, all unique and special in their own way.

Hi Stephen. A row of houses along the road. Each one is different in its construction. Overall, it's a mixed bag in the facade design. Not to be missed. Good text.

Half-timbering or timber framing always makes for beautiful photography !! here the depth and clarity of the photograph is exceptional. There are a wide variety of colours and designs of half-timbering. The overall photograph has a soft 'country' air about it. The road is not very wide. The houese are not big (none over two floors) and it is neat. Would have liked to see a few people here....

HI Stephen,

The diagonal line of the street is an asset to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the houses. The cloudy sky is giving a goof contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

C'est dommage que la météo ne s'y prète pas car ce village est superbe avec ces maisons à colombages typique, ces magasins oùl'on peut chiner, superbe quand il fait une météo clémente
