Hello friends and colleagues back here after a few days of absence, a beautiful vacation trip we have made to the north of Spain and that before long, here you will see reflected in the form of images. Today I present another nice view of Little Venice of the beautiful and interesting city of Colmar, in the charming region of Alsace, here is a letter about the city, I hope you like it. Regards to all.
Colmar (France: Colmar; Alsatian: Colmer; German: Colmar, between 1871-1918 and 1940-1945: Kolmar) is a town and commune in the department of Haut-Rhin Alsace, France.
It is the prefecture (capital) of the district of the same name.
The old city center, well preserved houses several buildings, sometimes large, German Gothic and early Renaissance and a number of old churches, among which is the collegiate church of San Martín (XIII century) as the largest and most notable.
Local artist Martin Schongauer XV century painted what is considered his masterpiece, The Madonna of the Roses, in the Eglise des Dominicains (Dominican church). The famous Isemheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grünewald highlight is the treasure housed in the Museum Unterlinden city. The museum, opened in 1853, is housed in the former convent of the Dominican order of "Unterlinden" (meaning "under the linden trees").
In 1834, was born in Colmar Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the famous Statue of Liberty, located in New York City.
Once a year, in August, the Fair hosts Colmar wines.
However, the greatest art is that Colmar retains traditional ambience with its wooden frame houses carefully preserved, filled with flowering geraniums on hot days.
Colmar has an interesting center, studded with old buildings, a famous museum, Unterlinden, and carefully Little Venice.
Furthermore, in the vicinity of the city there are some other points of interest, such as the magnificent town of Riquewihr, and great food and wine care also linger conception of art.
Unterlinden Museum is housed in a former Dominican convent founded in the thirteenth century, with a Gothic cloister considered the best in the region.
About 300,000 visitors come each year to the center, which exposes excellent art exhibitions of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as archaeological and ethnographic, on two floors and a basement.
But the core of this whole attraction is the famous Issenheim altarpiece, painted in the early sixteenth century by Grünewald to decorate a convent chapel Issenheim (20 miles south of Colmar)
The ten paintings of Grünewald are masterful. The painter left an impressive Crucifixion, which amazed the wincing, luminous shades and many details, among which is the painful aspect of Christ's flesh.
This crucifixion of Mathias Grünewald painter has placed as one of the most prominent European and world religious art of all time.
Little Venice, a beautiful set of traditional houses, full of flowers, beautiful half-timbered, line up along the street and Fish Pier, next to the canal.
These houses were owned by fishermen. Also lived in the neighborhood gardeners traditionally used by the channel to drive the fruits to the city market. Today the boats carry tourists rather quiet.
Very near this neighborhood is that of the tanners, with houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, lovingly restored.
Around the city center of Colmar houses abound timbered Alsatian, artistic balconies, turrets, balconies and other decorative elements.
In addition to the proliferation of this type of construction, stands in Colmar exquisite care of this important heritage, full of flowers during the most benign.
This gorgeous set spans much of the city, but is particularly notable in the walk from the Cathedral Square to the Old Customs and Little Venice.

This is so beautiful!.
It looks almost like a toy town!
I love the variety of old, timber-framed houses, with their pastel shades.
The bridge is an eye-catching element to have in the f/g.
My warm regards,

c'est un très bel ensemble de maisons à collombage;
Il y a de très belles teintes et de bons effets de reflets sur l'eau.

welcome back! I hope you've had a great time on holiday! This picture presents a very attractive picturesque place and is composed in a wonderful way. You give us a rewarding idea about the character of the town and you have set it up skillfully. There's a superb perspective that takes us across the frame and the sense of depth is effective. The colours are lovely, the setting has a theatrical quality and the people moving in it connect it with reality. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania from Athens at present

This is a beautiful set of houses, each one with a different color. I like this small flowered bridge where people give a sense of proportion. A good light makes for nice colors and good sharpness of the architecture.

Ciao e buona serata

The colors of this photo are just exquisite. It looks more like a painting than a photograph. The framing is neat and deliberate. A very pleasant sight to look at!
PS. Welcome back!

Hello Angel. The beautiful Colmar is a term for everyone. Here you have a view like in the Middle Ages. A stay in such a comfortable city with a lot of timber, flowers, bridges, etc. is a special joy. I am passionate about this city, but unfortunately I was not there personally.

The dark lines against the yellow background immediately catch the eyes. Seems that residents in this part of France love the intricate lines and designs to be painted on their walls. You have created cruoisity in the eyes of the pedestrians walking across the bridge with the hanging flowers.
Waiting for more shots from your trip Angel.

Welcome back. A place I've wanted to visit for some time now, and this is the kind of imagery that fuels that desire! :) Amazingly rich colors, and a composition that brings it to life. What a superb layout detailing the timbered facades and compact streets. There's also such a charming quality about this display, an air of tranquility. The colors reflected on the water are but a small portion of this image, but they stand out incredibly well. An absolute beauty, thanks for sharing this view of Colmar.
Best wishes from the U.S.,

Hola amigo mio.

Brilliant view to beautiful Colmar houses. I'm sure that you have enjoyed stay in this fantastic town. By the way they have excellent white wines in Colmar.
You have chosen an excellent viewpoint (most probably from another bridge?) and you have captured the houses in superb light. The people around add nice life to the scene. Greetings, Miro
