... the Milky Way II Photo

Photographer’s Note

My most successful photo to date on this site is still an early one, the Milky Way. Somewhat to my surprise because even though I like its composition I never really quite understood how the captor of my Dimage 7 camera could be fooled to deliver such strange colors !

Today to celebrate my 400th post, I offer you a continuation of the Milky trip with this second Milky Way, taken last summer on the french side of the Jura mountains. After morning milking the cows were moving back to their pasture overlooking the lake Saint-POint and the whole scene was under a beautiful morning light.

My advise to you, if you wanna take nice photos, get a dog (or two) ;-)

I loved your note. Congratulations for the 400th post - it's really an impressive number.
The other one is really well captured and in a magnific place, but this one has a nicer lighting and the landscape is very beautiful, with marvellous reflections on the river. But, what first took my attention is this cow in first plan. And, it's what make this one special. It gives dephness to the shot and it's out of the order. Is she curious about you? You called her?

When I look up to the sky I see stars not cows! This is a funny Milky Way, but I can live with it. Nice colours sharpness and composition. The cows all in a straight line is a bonous. But I don't thing the cow in the foreground want you to take her picture!

très bon titre qui rime avec l'humour dont tu fais souvent preuve et qui nous plait beaucoup sur le site.
Mais le titre rime aussi avec cet alignement laitier presque parfait avec quelques satellites.
Excellent POV et cadrage, l'ambience est très 'campagne'.

Nice one for your anniversary, JY. In terms of technical quality and composition I find it far superior to your classic one. You got a particularly nice lighting in this one, which together with the staggered positioning of the cows almost renders a 3D feel to this beautiful and pleasant scene. Very good one.

Well done with your impressive set of 400 photos, and I wish you lots of fun and enjoyment continuing on TE. As a (virtual) friend, may I also encourage you to continue not to mix "points" with "success" as they have nothing to do with each other ;)

Elles partent toutes à la queuleuleu et là petite dernière qui semble avoir envie de rester pour vois l'énergumène qu'elle a en face d'elle ;)
Bien vu le cadrage avec ces branches qui entrent dans l'image.
En plus, un joli paysage pour ne rien guacher.

Excelent quality with fine colors and sharpness. Very good point of view and enuadrement of all the elements. It's funny the cow posing and facing to you near the foreground and the others backwards going in their path.

I like this much better than the Milky Way simply for the fact that we have a better composition here. The first cow, looking at us in a taunting way and the cows behind it..The view is also more attractive here as are the colors. So...I expect this one to do very well JY.

Ca doit être la pose de 1/724e de seconde qui a fait le succès de l'autre vue LOL.
Je préfère celle-ci, la lumière et les couleurs sont mieux!

Je vois qu'un des vaches semble t'aprécier, elle ne veux pas suivre les autres ;o)

J'avais déjà adoré "Milky Way I" et voilà que tu récidives. C'est trop drôle ces vaches en file indienne et celle qui pose pour toi au premier plan. Un paysage très reposant qui me fait du bien après mes cinq jours de folie dans la capitale. J'apprécie ta remarque et ton lien sur notre journée TE à Genève; c'est vrai que c'était super! :-))

400e photo sur TE Jean-Yves? Tu dois être à temps plein dans la photo! Tu n'arrêtes pas de prendre de belles et bonnes photos (c'en est fatiguant à la longue... Mmmmeeeeuuuu non!), de les travailler, de nous les montrer et en plus tu participes à plein en critiquant un tas de photos et en écrivant régulièrement sur le forum. Eh bien, chapeau. Toutes mes félicitations de la part d'une participante beaucoup plus (trop?) lente... Revenons à ta photo. Je n'avais pas vue la première. Je trouve le titre complètement génial! J'ai bien ri en voyant ce dont il s'agissait. Cette alignement de vaches en file indienne, c'est plutôt rigolo. En plus, il y a celle à l'avant-plan, qui semble fermer la marche et qui te regarde. On peut faire de l'animisme et imaginer ce qu'elle pense. Très bonne composition avec cette vache et ces branches à l'avant-plan. Continue de nous présenter ton matériel, c'est très apprécié!

400 c'est déja un chiffre respectable surtout quand ce sont des sujets interessants et de bonnes photos.. Alors compliments.
La scene de la photo me plait bien, une transumance avec cette vache en queue de file qui se retourne, presque une image humaine et le tout dans un beau paysage.

Félicitations pour cette Jolie 400ème. Superbe cadre sur cette scène "à la queue leuleu" et "qu'est-ce qui m'veut celui-là" de la vache à l'arrêt. Très amusant. Joli paysage, belles couleurs en un mot très beau travail.

Great shot - colour and depth are excellent. Cow looking at camera does not look too pleased. The line of cows draw your eyes into the scene.

Hi Jean-Yves. Before I even read your note I had a flashback to your previous shot. You have once again captured the peloton effect with the cows. The reflections in the water are incredible and I love the foreground cow checking you out. Wonderful shot Jean-Yves!

Congratulations on turning 400 (I bet you never expected to hear that in your lifetime!). I like this photo very much. The line of cows seems so perfect, and the one cow looking back at the camera seems to communicate with us directly (although what she is saying, who can imagine?). Good Heavens! 400! Congratulations. You have chosen a wonderful image with which to celebrate.
I don't think I've seen cows forming an orderly line before and you have captured two. I think this could have also gone into the humorous category as the cow inviting you to join the line is priceless. Aside from that the rest of the scene is beautiful with the river like glass meandering its way across the frame. Very well done

J'avais bien aimé la "I", et je suis toujours fan... En plus, la vache qui te regarde renforce complétement la composition. C'est comme si, les vaches faisaient cela pour toi et que vous aviez convenu qu'une pose au 1er plan. La complicité au maximum !!! ;=)

A delightfully warm composition; one can almost feel the joy of the cow as the summmer sun bathes her in its rays. The morning light is superb and I like the POV. The placement of the primary cow to the left and the line of cows angling along through the frame is very artistic. A very good capture.

For this occasion you have chosen an excellent picture, i didn't know your Milky Way I, but i think this is a better picture, this one has more perspective, more depth , more beautiful landscape.
Excellent colours and contrasts. The reflection on the lake is well capture.

C'est trop bon le Milky Way, j'en ai trouve au Perou, c'est hors de prix ;oP. Encore une superbe compo, en plus cette vache a la traine te regarde, trop mignonne, j'aime bien les vaches...vivement l'Inde...bon on est la pour parler de ton image ;oP ! Moi je dis superbe.

J'ai suivi la route vers la "voie lactée" et j'apprécie le clin d'oeil. Bel alignement des bêtes à corne qui s'en vont vers l'arrière plan et surtout, superbe attitude de celle qui tu regarde avec curiosité. Belle continuité avec ta première milky way (en plus du lien entre 399 et 400)... Merci du partage !

J'ai dû loupé celle-ci mais comme je viens de la voir sur la page d'intro de TE, je m'arrête ici.
Elle est trop drôle la vache qui te regarde pendant que les autres fichent s'en vont. Symp l'encadrement de l'arbre et la nettété.
