Photographer’s Note

Dole est classée ville d'art et d'histoire.
Pour préserver ses rues ancienne, dont certaines ont été tracées avant l'an mil, elle a mis en place un secteur sauvegardé ayant une étendue de 116 ha.
Le patrimoine dolois se caractérise par des petites rues typiques de la vieille ville (maisons du XVe au XVIIIe siècles) autour de son église (Collégiale Notre-Dame).

Dole is classified as an art and history city.
To preserve its old streets, of which some were traced before 11th century, it set up a safeguarded sector having an extent of 116 ha.
The dolois inheritance is characterized by small typical streets of the old city (houses built between XVth and XVIIIth centuries) around its church (Collégiale Notre-Dame).

Good use of vertical format to show the facsdes of the buildings.
The contrast of light and shadows and colours works very well in the picture,
and the line in the middle of the road seem to indicate where we should go.
Sharpness and colours are great here. Thanks JB.

I like the lighting and colors in this shot. The way sun illuminates the buldings in the back looks very nice. I also like the composition with the winding road.

très beau rendu de la ruelle pavée et joli POV. L'accentuation des couleurs est peut-être un peu forte donnant des allures de ruelle du midi à cette rue de Dole mais l'image est très plaisante à regarder ainsi.

I like the golden light you have captured. You always manage to control the light/shade contrasts in difficult situations well. Good vertical composition using the perspective to carry the eye into the frame. Well done

on peut dire que tu as reussi une photo haute en couleurs, ce dernier rayon de soleil sur la façade l'illumine d'une couleur dorée qui s'harmonise tres bien avec son vis a vis de couleur rose.

You play excellent with light and shadows, also depth and perspective are superb.
The cobblestones lead us very depth in the narrow street, a pity but a old lady with a walking stick should the composition making neither better. (smile)

it's incredible to see what you get from a shot, in terms of lighting. I'm sure it would be a dark picture with strong shadows if I shot in the same conditions. The highlight/shadow controls are great. Interesting perspective and visible architecture details and textures. The sinuous old street is one more point for the composition. Well done!

Cette photo est vraiment superbe tant dans sa réalisation (composition et netteté) que dans son PP, les teintes sont vraiment magnifiques et j'aime beaucoup le contraste entre les parties éclairées et celles à l'ombre.
Tu vois même en quittant les bord de Rhone, tu peux faire de très belles photos ;o))

J'adore cette compsotion vertical avec ces facades si hautes et la rue qui s'en va en tournant en nous emmenant a travers toute l'image. Les couleurs sont top avec la dominante jaune d'un cote, la dominante rouge de l'autre. Superbe travail.
