Photographer’s Note

Quelques minutes avant l'orage... c'est le pont de la Republique, un des 7 ponts (pas tous pour les voitures) qui traversent le Doubs et relient l'ancienne et la moderne ville de Besancon. En antiquitee, il existait seulement un, le Pont Battant; on dit que c'etait Jules Caesar qui l'a construit pour la premiere fois...

Some minutes before the storm... This is the bridge "de la Republique" of Besancon, one of the 7 bridges (not all for cars) who connect the ancien and the modern city of Besancon. In antiquity, only one permitted the entrance to the city, the Bridge "Battant"; they say that Julius Caisar constructed it for the first time...

tu as pu tout de même avoir une supebre lumière juste avant l'orage ;o) J'aime bien ta compo entourée par les branches des arbres. Les teintes sont excellentes et le ciel menaçant rend très bien

Salut Cherubin. A moody rendition of the eerie ambience before the storm, with a special light breaking through the hovering clouds and illuminating the old town buildings by the river. Good inclusion of the foreground branches for the framing, and nice use of the bridge as a compositional anchor.

Great capture here! You have taken a very good point of view, we can see very much on the picture. What I like is that the depressed foreground is being neutralised by the sky on the background, which I think has a great effect on this picture. Well done, Regards Florian

Very quiet and peaceful ambience in this picture apparently taken on a cloudy day. There is no human activity in sight and that makes this picture different.

Très dramatique comme atmosphère.
Condition difficille en ce qui concerne la lumière mais indispensable pour l'atmosphère.
Bon cadrage et point de vue vers le pont ainsi que la ville.
Même l'eau est en harmonie avec le ciel.

Effectivement, un temps à vite rentrer chez soi.
C'est sur que cela manque un peu de lumière? C'est cela qui donne le côté un peu dramatique.

On sent presque le vent et l'humidité... Impressionnant et effrayant.
Très belle photo donc, malgré un lumière très sombre et triste, mais bien maîtrisée.

Bonjour Cherubin,
un ciel qui me plait énormément, même si il est synonyme d'une pluie orageuse qui ne va pas manquer de faire fuire tous les promeneurs et les photographes.
Une vue bien cadrée où les batiments modernes font un peu tâche comparés au reste de l'architecture et notament à ce vieux pont.
Un excellent week-end à toi.
