This is simply it, a cut of acacia from the great tempest in france. Acacia is a very tough wood. This wood never goes off even after years. This is the wood french lumberjack or peasant use for fences. it never goes off. Lumberjack (I am one) don't actually enjoy it because it is so hard and fibrous that it does pay its toll on any chainsaw's chain.
Simply nature.
