The street from Place Gutenberg to Cathedral early in the morning. it is the advantage of staying in the hotel in the centre - I can go early morning or late evening with the camera. In this light and with no people and cars it looks magnificent.
Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Strasbourg, Alsace, France. Although considerable parts of it are still in Romanesque architecture, it is widely considered to be among the finest examples of high, or late, Gothic architecture. Erwin von Steinbach is credited for major contributions from 1277 to his death in 1318.
At 142 metres, it was the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874, when it was surpassed by St. Nikolai's Church, Hamburg. Today it is the sixth-tallest church in the world and the highest still-standing structure built entirely in the Middle Ages.
Described by Victor Hugo as a "gigantic and delicate marvel", and by Goethe as a "sublimely towering, wide-spreading tree of God", the cathedral is visible far across the plains of Alsace and can be seen from as far off as the Vosges Mountains or the Black Forest on the other side of the Rhine. Sandstone from the Vosges used in construction gives the cathedral its characteristic pink hue.
In WS the same view later.

Good morning malgo,
I am about to post Strasbourg photos later today, also reckon the view with the exact location were taken this - take a look here: this is the left corner house on the Place-de-Cathedrale in your photo.
Inspite of strong morning light from right side, you show the interesting facade and the mighty tower of the impressive cathedral.

Tylko my i ta gotycka swiatynia!

This is a very impressive cathedral and your POV seems to be very low. Maybe it is the absence of references in form of other people that gives this impression. A very sharp picture with a high amount of interesting details.

Impressing view over the cathedral from Strasbourg, I like the fact that the street is almost empty here, thus giving us a free view over the church.
I really should pay Strasbourg a visit soon again, as it is only a mere 2h from Basel.
have a great evening

When I looked to this title, it seems me "Every morning..." I've thought... why not?
Good report from Strassbourg, Malgo. Now I am full of emotions and I don't know about my next place of landing.
Have a great WE!
Greetings from cool rainy Ural town!

Swietna geometria.
PS Zdaje sie ze dzis w swieto ofiarowania meczety beda pelne ludzi...

great to see you back home...! Was Istanbul everything you had hoped it to be?
I really like the power and strength of the composition in this photo, the tall walls on each side, the how the buildings angle us inwards to the back portion to the Cathedral.
well done, and its strange to see so few people, but it pays to get up early doesn't it!
see you around
