Photographer’s Note
Vytautas Landsbergis, Euro Parliament member at his office, 9th floor Strasbourg.
As another EP member put it, el Presidente. Probably because of:
(From wiki)
On March 11, 1990, he headed the Parliamentary session during which the restoration of Lithuanian independence from the Soviet Union was declared. Lithuania became the first Soviet Republic to do so. According to the temporary Constitution of Lithuania, Landsbergis had constitutional authority over both the Leader of the State and the Speaker of the Parliament. He held this post from March 1990 until the next elections in November 1992.
The Soviet Union attempted to stifle this activity by economic blockade in 1990, but it failed, and other Soviet Republics soon followed suit and declared their independence from Moscow.
Currently working to stop Russian Nord Stream gas pipeline project.
(wiki) Some transit countries are concerned that a long-term plan of the Kremlin is to attempt to exert political influence on them by threatening their gas supply without affecting supplies to Western Europe.

Paulus and the embedded politics. I think although you are from Lithouania, and as you see you are frightened by interests of Russia, the too close "Big Brother", TE is a not the best forum to express political phenomeno. Hmmm.
Anyway, I love this photo because of the moment captured, the atmosphere of accurate working, the fine light management and the well balanced composition.
Without direct political citation this photo might have got more scores.
Thank you for sharing, Jalab
