This 'timber framing'or half-timbering, also called in North America "post-and-beam" construction and is the method of creating structures using heavy squared off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs..
The photograph has excellent light and colour clarity. The sharpness of the architecture is well illustrated.

Diese Gegend mit ihren sehr sauberen farbigen Doerfern gefaellt mir sehr gut. Sehr interessante Haeuser. Ein Bild das die Gegend hervorrageng darstellt.

Hallo Bernd,
ach ja, Elsaß - da würde ich auch gern mal wieder hinfahren! Choucroute alsacienne! Schade, daß man manchmal auch was Anderes tun muß, außer Reisen.
Schöne, kräftige Farben und eine dynamische Weitwinkel-Perspektive, die allerdings die Häuser links stark kippen läßt.
