Photographer’s Note

H, like Hunawihr is a beautiful Alsacian village, near Riquewihr. Being less famous than its neighbour, it is a quieter location in the middle of the Alasacian vineyards.
H, also like our friend Henk Meijer who isn't that big fan of the traditional Papagolfade, guess he will feel well today ;)

Toi aussi tu as opte pour le Bibipov qui donne le meilleur effet de perspective et avec ce cadrage tu la magnifies, le PP est assez violent surtout sur les verts.

Hi Didier.
I saw triple in the gallery!
I clicked on them all, but yours is the one that appeals the most. Perhaps because of the fantastic light on all that greenery of the vines. The whispy clouds balance well the position of the church, and the rows give such strong lead-in to the church. Beatiful proportions in this composition. Very nicely done.

Hallo Didier! Kniefall ... was fuer ein Foto, voller Farbe, voller Sommer, Lebensfreude kommt auf. Die feinen Wolken am juliblauen Himmel sind der totale Kick! Immer wieder erstaunlich, was genau diese Dinge ausmachen, ein wenig Weiss, feine Streifen, und das Bild beginnt zu leben, der Rest wird fast sekundaer ... stimmt natuerlich auch nicht ganz, aber fast so. Toll!!!!! Schoener Sonntag ... Barbara.

Hello Nikon Terror,
Wow... ça flashe! Je vais aller chercher mes lunettes noires...
Un cadrage horizontal comme le mien, mais un POV bien meilleur avec ces lignes des vignes qui mènent notre regard jusqu'à l'église. C'était une chouette journée et je me souviens qu'on rigolait déjà à l'idée de poster cette photo pour Henk! :o)

Bonjour Didier,
Une des plus belles papagolfades que j'ai vues sur TE ! Le cadrage est impeccable, avec ces rangées de vignes qui guident le regard vers l'église, parfaitement placée dans la composition. La lumière est vraiment magnifique et fait exploser les couleurs. Très beau ciel également avec ces discrets nuages qui mettent un peu de décoration dans ce ciel d'un bleu uniforme. Merci pour le partage.

Salut Didier,

Ça frappe fort cette photo aux couleurs bien vibrantes; la lumière y est magnifique.

Le point de vue est vraiment intéressant et j'aime bien comment les vignes mennent incontournablement à la papgolfade. La composition extrême me plaît énormément, avec le bâtiment presqu'appuyé contre le cadre.

Enfin les nuages, aussi discrets soient-ils, meublent le ciel suffisamment pour ne pas ressentir un grand espace vide (j'ai récemment lu dans un livre sur la photo de paysage qu'un ciel tout bleu est aussi inintéressant qu'un ciel blanc laiteux... Tout de même! C'est discutable...).

Didier,
This was a nice idea to post the 3 versions of this place and to have them together was a good trick. The rows of the vineyard lead the eye to the church nicely. The placement of the church is great allowing us to see more of the vineyard. The sky is great and provides excellent contrast to the bright green of the vineyard.

Bonjour, Didier. Excellent travail de perspective avec les pieds de vignes qui mènent le regard vers le sujet principal. La ligne montante à gauche contribue aussi à bien mettre l'église en évidence. Par contre, je trouve le vert un peu trop jaune. Un problème Nikon ;o)?

le jeu sur les niveaux entre le ciel et le reste est à la limite du déséquilibre

Hello Didier, the PoV is excellent.I love the view along the rows of vines to the church at the top of the hill.

même monument mais autre PdV que Jean-Yves... Même temps ennervant par contre (car j'y suis passé ce week-end et le temps a été gris et pluvieux presque tout le temps) mais j'aime ton utilisation de la vigne pour créer des lignes qui guident le regard vers l'église.

Merci de remettre a la mode ce beau village injustement meconnu car trop proche de Riquewihr.
Le cadrage est tres efficace car la courbe des vignes amene naturellement le regard vers l eglise fortifiée. Le jeu des lumieres sur les vignes fait le reste en restituant une belle couleur.

Et dire que le lendemain en Suisse, il faisait un temps pourri. J'aime beaucoup ton pdv fort dynamique sur cette jolie eglise. Les nuages sont bien placés à gauche. C'est un peu brûlé pour moi, donc je vais arrondir ton score laissé en impair par JP.

It seems you have all got together to tease our friend Henk! I love how the side light is bringing out the strong green of the vines. Your low POV looking up the rows of vines is perfect as lead-in which leads directly to the church.

I found the picture of you and Jean Yves very well, but this picture here is the most beautiful through the choice of the angle.
You have managed to use the low angle lighting to create excellent colors and warmth through out the scene.

Love this shot. The bright colors and high contrast really make the image pop out at you. The compo is really interesting with the church way to the right of the frame but balanced nicely by the little clouds in the sky on the other side. Interesting also how the clouds almost seem to create the same pattern as the vineyard.

this image presses the right button for me. i like this well known, old Alsatian church in the vineyards. the colors and light are rich and wonderful. again, i like the framing. it is a bit unusual, compared with the other photos i've seen of this place. it seems that you tried to get a diagonal line in your composition. wonderful work.

Hi Didier,

i know there are many fantastic photos in your gallery, I've seen them, but this one is...well...perfect.
I have to pay it my compliments too.
It is of fantastic ambient...light so strong, colours so clear and bright, but the best part, the thing that makes it perfect is the choice of the point of view. The placement of the church could not be better...with all vineyards leading to it...And through the tower up all the way to the sky.
Absolutely superb!

fantastic luminance here. the light on the vines seems ... well... perfect! the blue though has a tad too much 'gray' in it due to the polarizer, but i realize, you wouldn't be able to get good exposure for the leaves without it due to reflection. never mind my mumbling here: this is a beautiful shot!
