Photographer’s Note

Today a favorite papagolfade of mine that appears from time to time in my gallery, the fortified church within the vineyards of Hunawihr shot on a nice spring morning.

It is believed this church was built aroud 1114 and the original fortification wall was enhanced during the XV th century as an adaptation to fire weapons. The oldest elements are the fundations and thus not visible on this photo, the bell tower dates from the XIV th century.
Interestingly since 1687 this church serves both the catholic and reformed church.
