Photographer’s Note

Vandenesse-en-Auxois is a small village located along the Canal of Burgondy.

The Canal of Burgondy connects the Atlantic Ocean ( via rivers Seine & Yonne) to the Mediterranean Sea ( via rivers Saône & Rhones). It is constructed between 1727 and 1832. Il is 242 km long.

lovely scene of the country side. The photo has great quality in all aspects such as the natural colors and the fine details. The inclusion of the silhouetted tree makes this very original and different. Well done!

La prise de vue de la colline vers le village donne de la profondeur à la composition. Les arbres cadrent bien le canal et le village. Les couleurs sont rehaussées par la qualité de la lumière. Bonne soirée.

Hi Roger,
one must look for canal, but yes, I can see it. There are even some houseboat there. it reminds me my wonderful holidays on Penichette, also in Burgundy. Beautiful village below, nice peaceful landscape.

C'est une photo très belle et agréable!
La netteté, la gestion de la lumière, le point de vue et les couleurs sont excellentes!
J'adore surtout la compo, avec la silhouette de cet arbre à la droite et tous les autres éléments au fond bien placés dans l'image!

That is a fantastical DOF, it really leads you down to the village in the BG. Very clever angle, indeed. What is even better, you could keep it sharp from FG to BG with vibrant colors. Well done

Ottimo taglio che con la silhuette nera a destra incornicia uno scenario rurale semplice ma dai forti contrasti. Il rosso dei tetti delle case contrasta bene col verde dei campi. Le masse verde scuro degli alberi, molto eleganti, sono dei punti focali che arrichiscono il paesaggio e gli danno profondità.
E' come guardare attraverso una finestra e... respirare aria pura.

Hello Roger,
This is an almost-air-view photo of the beautiful agricultural landscape. The reddish roofs make the village, which is the compositional center, looking very picturesquely against the yellow and green fields. Perfectly good capture!
