Photographer’s Note

A small wink to Xavier and Jacques who both uploaded this morning two red pictures o;)

The charm of the bright village of Collonges-la-Rouge is due to the purple sandstone which was used for all the architecture and the Romanesque church. The sandstone deposit is located in the north of the village, on the massif of Habitarelle. For anecdocte, houses are built on a white ground limestone!

Collonges, in the XVIth century, was a resort frequented by notables who will build manor, lovely mansions flanked by towers and turrets... The architectural harmony of the village and this very unusual charm, invites you to stroll.
