Hello Stephen,
Wars are horrible! I like your image because of the light and colours. The place you show us is very interesting because of its historical value. I imagine at one time this was perhaps a cute little village. Thanks Stephen.

Bonjour Stephen,
Je serais étonné après cette série de bonnes photos historiques et bien réalisées, qu'il reste un ignorant des événements tragiques qui se sont déroulés là bas. Très bon et très complet travail.
Bonne journée
Cordialement

It rather amazing that such a terrible tragedy can happen and yet in the same spot the sun still rises, the grass is a beautiful green, fantastic blue sky....just a thought. I really have enjoyed this series but it does feel very sad at the same time. Another really good picture! TFS and have a happy day!

Hi Stephen
Yet another good entry in this superb & sobering, historic, wartime series. Both paths provide superb lead in lines. Good colour & sharpness.
An appropriate upload for 'D Day' anniversary, & the liberation of France. Tfs!

Hi Stephen,
What is interesting here is the contrast between the centre greens and the ruined buildings, life against death.
Have a nice day JY

Stephen,
Nice composition showing the ruins on both sides of the green grass and trees. This is a very appropriate shot for this anniversary of D-Day. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and detail. I posted my tribute to the D-Day losses yesterday American Cemetery.

Hello Stephen,
you make this place full of beauty even in this history. I like this green in grey with that nice sky. But the ruins bring me back to the sad history.

Hi Stephen,
What a dramatic contrast between the vibrant springtime greens and the old bombed out ruins. Lovely blue sky above this still stark landscape.

Hello Stephen
Il pourrait avoir l'air presque sympathique ce village vu sous cet angle avec cette pelouse fraîchement tondue, mais c'est peut-être là que le contraste est le plus fort!!
Très bon travail, amicalement

Hi Stephen.
Just read your critique and amazing story of meeting your neighbours in Sarlat!
Have browsed through the series on Oradour, too, and found it very interesting. In this one, the sunny weather and freshly mown green grass seems at odds with the destroyed buildings, but Auschwitz has the same effect on a sunny day, after all. It's a well taken photo with carefully chosen viewpoint lending a strong perspective effect. The sense of desertion is strongly felt in this picture. Well done.
Regards,
Andrew
